? about Buzz Lightyear's SRS

I actually prefer BLSRS to TSM, although I love both. I like the openness of the rooms in BLSRS, rather than shooting at a screen. TSM gives you a specific thing to do with each game, and I get more panic stricken. Basically, I'm terrible at Toy Story - I get flustered.

I know what you mean about them being from the same movie, and being arcade styles games. I see where you're coming from. If they were in the same park, I would think having them both open wouldn't be necessary. With the popularity of the arcade styles games though, I think having them in two different parks is fine. Buzz could use a little refurb though, but I'd hate to see it go!

If they did a rehab...I would really hope they would have the blasters not attached to the ride vehicle and be connected to a cord for free range targeting.

This is my biggest pet peave with BLSRS. I swear i saw a version of this ride with unattached guns, am I right in thinking this or did i just imagine it?

Oh well. But as I have said IMHO, having both open seems tacky to me, but I am probably(sp?) a minority in this thinking. I just think with the new one open it would be ok to replace the old one with something better.

Also, I should point out that I like SRS too, but now I know I can go to DHS and get the same ride on TSMM.
Quite honestly I have never understood this way of thinking. Just because the ride types are simillar does not mean that the rides are identical. Space Mountain, BTMRR, E:E and RNRC are all roller coasters. Should we shut all but one of those down because they are all roller coasters? SSE, Nemo, and HM are all onmi-movers...which one of those should stay?

how can you compare all the coasters together like that? they all have a totally different them! blsrs and tsmm...are the same theme in a same style of ride. nemo in epcot and nemo the musical...are two different things. ones a musical, the other a ride. if they had a nemo ride in epcot and the same themed, same style of ride in mk i would say the same thing. i understand where you are coming from...both rides are good rides but dont compare the rollercoaster to this situation. if there was a rollersoaster that had the same exact theme, i would also say the same thing. lol...mho.

That exactly my point....they are not the same. The OP is claiming that Buzz and TSMM are the same so Buzz needs to go, but they are no more similar then the examples I gave.

It is not going anywhere at it is an extremely popular attraction. The fact that it is similar to TSMM is no reason to shutter it. The only way it will be closed is if attendance to it drops.

I think people drastically overestimate the popularity of SRS and don't take into account the effect that FP has on it's line.

If fast pass was taken away (which is should be from this because it is an omnimover) the line would never be over 15 to 20 minutes.

^ Yes they are way more similer than the examples you gave. As I have said the only thing the rollor coasters have in common is the fact that they are roller coasters, and SRS and TSMM have way more things in common and thats a fact.

The fact that there is a wait all day long indicates that the ride operates at or near maximum capacity. Fast pass or not Buzz is rarely a walk on.

If they have so many similarities then name 10.

Yes i have ridden both of them and they are both rides that I enjoy. But They are more alike than both being shoot em ups. They are both omnimovers, Toy Story based, target shooting, two person cabs, and score keeping to name a few similarities. I liked SRS, but no that TSMM is here that space can be better used for a new attraction. And the only thing that BTMR and SpcMtn have in common is they are both roller coasters. Bad analogy. And, yes they are different rides and storys but the experience is almost identical.

Ok, here is the last I will post on this issue because we are not going to change each others minds. I think of it like this, if I talked to some one about the shoot-em-up ride about Toy Story it could mean either one. But, if I were to ask about the coaster with the big hairy monster in it I would be talking about E:E. And, also BTMR and E:E are both mountains so those are slightly more similer than the rest of the coasters, so I guess I was wrong there.

Let us also think about Fantasyland. Snow White, Peter Pan and Pooh are incredibly similar to each other and they are located right next to each other. My point is that you reason for closing Buzz, while somewhat correct, is not really a valid reason for closing an attraction. Many of the attractions form WDW have numerous similarities to each other. WDW pretty much only closes attractions for 2 reasons....low guest counts or being too expensive to operate.
