So as many of you know, we are officially 70 days to arriving in WDW! Woo Hoo! This will be our 3rd trip as a married couple, second with our daughter, first for the grandparents with our daughter, and their upteenth trip (actually I think it is somewhere around 6 or 7. Here we are on our last trip which was our daughter's first trip

My Mom and Dad are headed down via airplane on September 11th, 2013. They will be staying at the Contemporary main building for the entire length of their trip. They are extraordinarily lucky and get to stay 8 days. We will be arriving in Florida sometime on the 14th and will check in to the Contemporary (if I have anything to say about it) as early as possible on the 15th and head straight to Animal Kingdom. We plan on doing the usual suspects at AK. Start with the safari, wonder around a bit and hopefully eat at Flame Tree for lunch, ride EE for the first time for me. My mom and Cadence, my DD, will sit this one out for sure as my Dad may as he has some health issues to contend with. Festival of the Lion King and the Nemo shows and whatever else we can fit in before heading back to the Contemporary to unpack and freshen up for the Pirates and Pals Fireworks Cruise! Woo Hoo! So excited about this one.

Yeah I am thinking it is gonna have to be overplayed with fabric or something and done larger. Just doesn't look good. I am pretty happy with my hubbies.

Yes, the lettering and head on that shirt came out really well. Sometimes it also helps once the person tries it on. i.e. you might like the other better once on? maybe?

I definitely will try it on my Dad and see what it looks like before tweaking it. Got my Mom's shirt today and had no luck finding fabric. The only chevron Joanns had was variations of purple with white, which was cute but just not cute enough. So we will see what we can do. Hoping tomorrow I can embroider my shirt and the princess crown shirt I did for Cadence and then will work on sewing the Mickey head onto my moms. Then I gotta figure out how I want to use the other appliques I bought.

I know it's a longshot and you might overpay a bit from the fabric price standpoint, but you might try looking at bedding. i.e. sheets and pillowcases on sale. Obviously, places like Marshalls, Ross & TJ Maxx are good places since random pillowcases often get marked way down, but even Target and Walmart could be options. Stripes and chevrons are pretty popular bedding options - so you might find something.

Do you have good thrift stores nearby? Our Animal Welfare League always has table and bed linens for sale. Lately, they have had mostly 80s pastel prints. Once through the 80s was enough for me.

I want an embroidery machine for no good reason. I think they are nifty. My husband is worried that if I get one, he will come home to find all of his shirts embroidered with random things. Mickey Mouse, a dog, his name in 8 different fonts, the TARDIS...

That is true...you can often find older dresses with wonderful fabrics. Good call!

I love the idea of an embroidery machine, but I suspect it would be like me with a sewing machine. :arghh: A friend of ours got one a while back...she was an embroidery madwoman for a good 6 months. I think everyone she new got at least one embroidered good within that time. The TARDIS might be good though...I could see some demand for that!

Y'all are too funny. The embroidery machine is a pain in the butt. Cute for certain things but the spacing is hard to figure out and I only have a small hoop so it doesn't work as well as I would like. Stuff rarely turns out as cute as I would like.

Been a busy lady sewing this morning. I finished my Mom's shirt entirely today.

I embroidered mine, but need to figure out if I want a red and white polka dot bow or a tiara on mine. My shirt is gray and the writing and Mickey head is black. So it needs a pop of color. I made Cadence another shirt as well that once I embroider it I will post.

They admitted my Dad to the hospital this morning for heart related issues so am getting ready to head up there to see how he is. Prayers needed.

The red bow will have more impact with the gray and black. Can you put the tiara on the bow? Maybe you should wear your own tiara and save sewing time.

I hope your father is feeling better, soon.
