A Spirited Perfect Ten

I agree I spend a ton of nights in hotels and even using priceline to get a decent hotel 3 stars and better on the system I am paying 75 and up now for a room. With most nights having to bid 100 to get a room.

Hotels are not as cheap as they were ten years ago that is for sure.
My corporate rate for Hampton Inn is $109. After local taxes and fees, it comes out to between $130-$140.

And these are not great room. Clean rooms but not luxury in any shape or form. And when I do get the nicer hotels I get the old small room stuck in a corner that has not been remodel. So I get the nice bed and that is about it.

But business travel is cheap travel I don't waste cause I don't want my employees to waste.

So, the rich execs hate poor people?

I disagree.

Thats hatred. That's malicious. If this is how the execs think, coupled with Ford's views on their outlook stated above, then they have moved beyond not caring about their guests, and into active dislike.

So you think disney is putting fourth an effort that is equivalent to times in the past where they were building world class attractions in orlando?

You don't agree that they are catering to customers that don't seem to have the same level of satisfaction as they used to?

I don't really ever understand the content or context of your posts. So I'm sorry in advance if I don't respond in a way that makes any sort of sense to you.

You responded with an eye roll smiley face..

I'm sorry that I do not speak emoticonese.

Instead of asking questions how about you answer one?

Do you think disney is only aiming for a less discerning guest?

One of the earliest dvd's released was a recording of the original Broadway cast, originally broadcasted on PBS. This was back when dvd's were $30-$50. Probably can find it if you look hard enough or are curious, but you are correct in your assumptions.

It was also on Netflix for a while, don't know if it still is.

I wouldn't be so certain. You can look at any number of social issues (that won't be mentioned for fear of drawing a foul gaze from the purveyor of this fine thread). Values change as society changes.

They shouldn't - be it personally, as society, or in business. If values can change then you didn't have a proper basis, or foundation, for said values in the first place. Things such as honesty, integrity, and responsibility have been appropriate standards since the world was created. "Outdated" concepts such as respect for your fellow man mean it still isn't appropriate to manipulate and take advantage of your customers to line your own pockets, or see your employees (Cast Members) as just a resource to be used as a means to an end.

We can't say what Walt would have thought or done about any number of things, but if he were at all a proper and responsible individual (and businessman), his values should be the same today as they were in 1955 (which, indeed, might well make him still a difficult man to work for).

This is a serious question. Why is it, according to many here, that TWDC, and more specifically TDO, hates its guests? What is it that causes such maliciousness to take place in Florida? I own a small business, and the idea of hating my customers is so completely foreign to me.

I'm a small business owner as well. I don't think its hatred, more that they take their customers for granted. A level of complacency has set in because they've been customers for years and they always come back. Enough executives in the wrong places within TDO or the entire company for that matter, have figured out that they can do less and less in Orlando and still make a $^*#@load of money.

And now for a totally different tangent.....new pictures for the paramount park in London have come out,ye olde England comes to mind, but looks good to me :) ,what's everyone else think?possible big rival to Disneyland Paris? The addition of a huge indoor waterpark will definitely be one huge advantage over disneyland, and according to the link below there will be 40+ rides and shows.....look at first picture in the first link, and the absolutely huge rollercoaster there seems to be in the background, hopefully someone can get a picture of the scale model they are showing off at workshops from today for the next month of the whole park!
