You need to be corrected..... (@bhg469, that lovely diddy isnt on youtube anymore)

OK, was thinking of starting my summer sabbatical a little early here ... I'm sure y'all will be just fine without me. But then a friend alerted me the site was apparently down a large chunk of the day and night and I thought y'all may have missed this gem from the ''Whatever happened to former EPCOT VP Brad Rex Dept?'':

http://www.orlandosentinel.com/business/os-cfb-brad-rex-talking-with-20150705-story.html

Actually met Brad one day while working. Same day I seem to remember Eisner coming through IG. Brad was on a Segway and seemed .... well he didnt seem like any other cast members I had met.

Glad to see that he's done well for himself and his current undertaking.

So, this guy making a names for himself by puking forth info he picked up from here is now in trouble with @WDWFigment (no, I don't know if he's still in Japan or not! I do need to email him ...) for 'borrowing' some of Tom's pics to run with our info?

Shocking.

What's scary is he apparently resides within minutes of me ...

Infringing on copyrighted material - especially works created by a lawyer - will simply not end well for Mister "Wanted Some Attention."

Unfortunately we have an entire generation that feels that stealing other people's work is completely acceptable.

Is that like what happened to former EPCOT VP Sam Lau? So we are getting another new EPCOT VP? They sure rotate through that job a lot.

Posted in another thread, but I'll even say I was there about 3-7 yesterday, and the Magic Kingdom was better than most summer days. Very manageable, and my wife and I were completely surprised by it.

Yeah. I've gotten some firsthand reports. It would seem that (shockingly!) the only place that was very crowded was ... the BRAND new #HubBub. And it was no better than previous years according to these folks who are there annually and know.

It's the talented, but operationally challenged (to put it kindly), Steve Davison making every pyro show castle focused. I know last year I saw the holiday pyro with @PhotoDave219 and others from Liberty Square and there was plenty of space and no need to get anywhere more than five minutes before the show started.

On the subject of summer crowds, Universal emailed some people an offer for a discounted Portofino Bay rate between now and mid-July ($145 wkday/$165 wknd - and, yep, I jumped at the chance). Doesn't sound like the kind of thing that would be offered if crowds were out of control.

I got the same thing. But why pay $145 at Portofino when you can pay $107 at the All Stars?

All about that MAGIC ....

If there were no closings, there should have been. I was at MK last night and had the extremely surreal experience of watching the much anticipated fireworks from a parking lot behind Main St. With views only to be found behind your average strip mall, we had the choice of seeing the top of the castle over a construction wall, that, I am guessing was hastily thrown up to block the porta potties that still managed to peek over top if it, but with really no way to hear the audio or standing where you could hear the audio and see nothing but backlot. The audio seemed boom box quality at best. We were repeatedly assured we missed nothing by not being on Main St.

We knew the crowds would be insane but spent the day enjoying FP and some moderate standby lines. We would have been on Main St by 6:30 but a rainstorm with some lightning drove us in to Cosmic Rays. We're traveling with a family that has a little guy. By 7 the bridges to Main St were closed and we were being herded to the back lot with all the Magic of a traffic cop signaling cars around an accident.

I have been at MK when the park was closed because if capacity crowds and this was worse by far.

That specifically was NOT supposed to happen. The Guest corridor (love that they make something so ugly and un-Disneylike sound like something better) was built to move people, not allow them to hang out backstage and watch pyro.

Honest question: if MK can't fill parking lots this weekend but still goes to an alleged Phase 1 close, why tear down the Richard Petty track to make more parking lots? It seems Dec. 26-28 and Dec. 31 are the only time they could possibly be used. What is the reasoning here?

Great point. But my guess is it is all tied up with the new roadwork and entry area that will be redone completely before ... say 2021.

But, no, they absolutely don't need more parking to be used (I'm being liberal here, which is fine since I'm becoming more of a socialist with every day) two weeks a year. You just park people elsewhere and deal.

Do you really think Disney *wants* people with a sharp attention to detail and critical mind making videos of them? Of course not.

This Mom is exactly the kind of person they want, the sort who blindly accepts that it must be luxury-standard because they used the word 'Deluxe' in the hotel description and tells everyone else how good things are, instead of filming all the dirt on the skirting boards or wood that's coming away or what have you.

Yep. They want them relatively stupid, but with a thin veneer of intelligence (one that easily can be stripped away).

I absolutely don't get their social media strategy (hence me discussing it so often). But you don't see Disney giving me anything (no, the Coke I steal at WDW doesn't count!) for the millions of hits my threads get here (leaving out all the GOOD information I spread to the community).

Gee, you'd think they'd give me use of one of the Golden Oak estates and VIP guides for eight-10 weeks a year. (oh, obviously with a stipend for food and beverages). :)

Yeah, I suggested it to @NowInc & his lady friend, I highly recommend Liberty Square for fireworks viewing.

Its a hidden gem.

I disagree in acting.
While Chris Pratt and Co(the raptor crew + bad guy) were tons of times better than the "hunters" from the older movies.
The kids were as bad as acting as the original girl from the first movie.

By the way, anyone noticed that most actors in this movie.. were mainly TV series actors?

Vincent D'Onofrio was from LAW & ORDER
B. D. Wong was also from LAW & ORDER
Chris Pratt was from PARKS AND RECREATION
Nick Robinson from MELISSA & JOEY

and a few others I do not remember right now.

I saw a pic that someone did that showed that a vast majority of the actors have appeared in some Marvel movie over the years as well.

If you honestly think that's all it takes, by all means do it yourself. Shouldn't take you very long. I eagerly await your results.

Nah, it takes whoring for any/every thing and BLIND allegiance to a BRAND as well.

As a stockholder, it sorta makes me ill to think how much money, time and resources is spent on a bunch of insignificant people.

In the spirit of our Chinese overlords, kind of interesting how their stock market is doing it's best imitation of a Fukishima reactor over the last week or so. So why does a country with 7% growth need Central Bank intervention?

Also saw some interesting articles on the CNBC website regarding doing business in China. To sum up, as an outsider, once you think you have the Chinese figured out, they change the rules. I would post links, but link posting on a Kindle is a PIA
