A Spirited Dirty Dozen ...

So having seen Secret Life of Pets, I think people who are raving about it as the film of the year need their head examined (unless they're preteen girls).

It's just another generic talking animal movie, predictable plot, mediocre jokes, nothing we haven't seen before. All those saying it's better than Zootopia, what are you smoking? There's more wit, style, creativity and intelligence in a single minute of Zootopia than in the entirety of Pets.

It's OK, and a nice movie for kids or pet owners, but nowhere close to the bar Disney has been setting.

And saying it's better than Ghostbusters, which I watched immediately after... now come on, Ghostbusters is much, much better. If Pets really does (as predicted by everyone except me) beat Ghostbusters at the box office... well we might as well power up Skynet and get rid of humanity now, it's all we deserve quite frankly.
It was funny and more enjoyable than DM2 for me. Plus we're getting what sounds like a cool ride because of its success so far. I won't be seeing Sing though unless the trailers start to look better.

WDAS/Pixar > Illumination

Do we have any info on what the ride will be like yet? I haven't heard any details other than they're planning one. They certainly don't need yet another ride doing a screen-based chase through New York but a kids dark ride could work. That would make me worried for E.T.'s fate though.

Saw and enjoyed on Monday, Would not be surprised if it performed on par with Frozen

I know the pet pound is strong, but I can't see it reaching Frozen levels. You're right I'm not a pet owner so am probably missing the appeal, but I'm not a preteen girl either, and I was able to understand why Frozen did bonanza at the box office.

I haven't seen any other Illumination movies, so I'm comparing it to Zootopia, Inside Out and Finding Dory, and it didn't seem as good as any of those, but people here and elsewhere online are saying it's better than any of them, so what do I know?

All I do know is anyone deciding to see Pets instead of Ghostbusters is missing out big time.

Trackless dark ride with AAs.

Go watch the first Despecable Me. It's still their best film yet.

While on the topic of Universal I guess it's finally time to put this up...

Follow the source and you'll see its translated from a newspaper or something. You'll also get more info.

The official announcement can't be far off now. So excited!!! :D

I'm not even a gamer and that looks 'Wicked Cool' to use a New England phrase, Once again it proves a well executed CONCEPT trumps IP. I'm not a 'wand waver' I just like well executed attraction concepts and sorry kids, Cardboard Olaf on a stick does not get it done, Nor do the currently 'Frozen' AA's in FrozStrom but at least they are 'Frozen' right...

The critics disagree with that assessment, Pets is forgettable fun, Ghostbusters well how is it even possible for that much TALENT to make such a horrible flick. (A. Suits interfering in the creative process).

Actually my comment was on 'Finding Dory' I can see Dory getting to near Frozen levels. I saw Pets on Friday (needed a laugh after a LONG week).

I actually like Frozen Ever After and think it's a nice ride that's just in the wrong park. The better comparison would be Toy Story Land. A new family friendly area that's needed in both companies' "Studios" park and one of them is obviously putting much more into it ;)

I was commenting on the operational state of the ride which most of the time leaves the AA's 'Frozen', Have not ridden but it looks good from videos I've seen.

I can't understand why people think it's horrible at all. I think it will be one of those that critics dislike but the public will love. Most regular people who've seen it seem pretty positive about it. In my view it delivered everything I could possibly want from a Ghostbusters movie.

It will be interesting to see what impact reviews have anyway, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if Ghostbusters tops a billion globally as word of mouth spreads that it's so much better than the internet has led people to believe.

Oh My! $500 million??? That is substantial. I wonder if it means more area, more attractions, or more detailed theming over several parks or concentrated on only one or two. Time will tell. I don't know if that means the announcement is closer but one can hope.

We have to remember that this is the price for Japan. Their Hogsmeade cost $400 million as stated in that link while Orlando's cost closer to $250 million. Why this is I have no idea. Nintendo here would probably cost around Diagon Alley which was $400 million or maybe more. The current rumors state that Nintendo will have some flat rides and 2 bigger rides in Japan. That number could be 3 bigger rides for Orlando so we'll have to wait and see how it pans out. I'm also sure to the best of my knowledge that one of those "bigger rides" will be a Mario Kart E Ticket since that's one thing that I've consistently seen talked about from the beginning. There could be different rides in each land as well because today it came out that a Yoshi's Island dark ride could be coming to Japan but is more of a maybe for Orlando. I think it depends on E.T. staying or going.

As you can see it all seems up in the air at this point. Might as well wait it out.

Personally, I don't think anybody at OU knows anything at this point. I'm basing that assumption on the wording of their language and continually contradictory statements from various insiders. I'm taking everything they're saying with a grain of salt for right now.

If it's more Original Yoshi's Island then the sequels, I am totally up for that. Probably my favorite game of all time.

I apologize in advance if this has already been discussed.

Thoughts?

Not content with getting his snout thumped at the NFL bid I guess, If he does the same electrifying presentation he did for the NFL, Well there will be a #FAIL for the Guiness Book of Records, The problem is he does not have a creative bone in his body, And he fundamentally does not TRUST creatives so we get uninspired crap, Just like Rogue One is being dumbed down by his imperial command.
