D-Luxe burger is clearly a MAGICAL version, read knock off, of Shake Shack so it clearly deserves to be compared against them. Excluding alcohol, everything at D-Luxe is more expensive than Shake Shack. I cannot speak to the quality of D-Luxe's burgers, but Shake Shack offers a level of quality and value I used to expect from Disney.

Shake Shack I-Drive
D-Luxe Burger via Disney Food Blog
Shake shack is over hyped over priced really slow fast food, id rather be in disney buying a $10 burger than spending a few dollars less to eat at shake shack, but 5 guys is the best burger place in my opinion

Hubby lived in CA and In and Out Burger was his son't favorite place. After one particular visit, they both decreed that In and Out was exactly what it did to thier respective digestive systems so...no, when we visit the west coast, we don't even go there.

True.

That, and I don't allow pictures taken of me (ever. hate being photographed). They're not my students anymore. And the private university I work for probably doesn't even know my social media posts exist.

But very true point you make, my friend.

I also hate being photographed and even in the family albums few pictures exist of me, That's the great advantage of being a photographer, Almost no one takes pix of the guy wearing a couple cameras except of course for the classic gag of two photographers photographing each other and you cannot see the other photographer's face behind their camera unless of course they are using a Leica M series or something small like that.

No, that doesn't count. You have to either stay there and experience the "uniqueness" of the place or visit at least two of the state's iconic offerings. Example, you can't just drive through a state, you must visit two famous landmarks or tourist spots. Or, stay overnight and visit one famous spot and eat local cuisine as we did in the tiny state of Rhode Island or while traveling along the gulf coast through multiple states in a day.
Ok so that gives me Florida (obviously), Georgia, Carolina (was it North or South or both that I've spent the night? Can't remember), Tennessee, New York, New Jersey, Nevada, and California. Not too shabby :)

I have tried In-N-Out and must say, it did not live up to expectations. Its quality is just below five guys.

Depends on the time of day I think, But both 5 Guys and In-N-Out both use FRESH ingredients but I think 5 Guys cooking style has a edge over In-N-Out but still In-N-Out 'Animal Style' is awesome and unmatched anywhere. But I'd have to give the overall edge to 5 Guys.

I really wish spirited threads would EVER stay on topic. (No fault to @WDW1974 who tries to wade through the pages upon pages and respond to the handful of on topic posts)

At any rate, do you have any insight into the rumors that the Avatar Boat Ride will share the same/similar ride tech to that of SDL's version of Jack Sparrow of the Caribbean?

Also, I wonder if @whylightbulb could chime in on that new Kong AA across the street. Will it be properly lubricated?

It's always important to keep your King Kong properly lubricated...

Okay, I'll see myself out.

And, while we're on the subject of Spirited Quality Walkthroughs, since you recently spent time in both WDW and UNI, what letter grade would you give each park in terms of upkeep/quality (and not on attractions, merch, or rascal parking capacity)

I know we've all been enjoying the Vegas boi's aggregated pics/PR for SDL, but much of his stuff is coming from an @DisneylandDrive on the Tweeter ... and that dude looks so familiar to me. I know I have met him ...Anyone here know who he is?

We always circle back to Disney. Whether its Disney's data mining with NextGen/MM+, Shanghai, The decline of Disney Dining, the misuse of social media, or a financial analysis of the last quarter, we tend to circle back eventually. Its the nature of these threads.

Gotta admit that all the things I hate about social media are on display for the first Disney park opening of the real social media age (there really wasn't much for HKDL in 2005 ... and newsgroup/discussion board only stuff for DCA, TDS and WDSP).

I am sure it is great for all the fanbois in the USA who will never visit, but I do feel that anytime I look at anything that it might spoil something for me. There are hours and hours of complete ride-thrus and parade showings and shows etc. I don't want to see any of that.

On WDW matters, another summer in which we will hear breathless reports of lines and crowds and ... APers now have a 35% offer for WDW resorts for June and July.

I remember them, miss them sorely. It's nothing compared to the original hub, but i'm at least a little happy to see some of the newer trees in the hub having twinkling lights again. Though they don't frame the castle in the same gorgeous manner they used to. Anyone have any idea how large the newer twinkling trees can get eventually? Just trying to imagine how the new hub might look in the future. If they're even using trees that can grow substantially and if they actually allow them to grow and don't mutilate to keep them small.

I doubt they will ever get bigger. Hell, I think they have already swapped out, or severely cut back, the main Hub shrubs.

Listened to Jim Hill's latest podcast today. He said that 95% of media attending the opening event at Shanghai is Chinese media and the other five is western media from the US and UK. The interesting part though was that absolutely everything for the media is planned on a strict itinerary and the media is not allowed to roam the park freely they must stay with the media events and only at the media events.
