Eh...it belongs in both. People need to stop with the name calling and taking sides. A statement that is also relevant to this forum. ;)

Note: not directed at anyone in particular, but we're getting dangerously close to going back down a rabbit hole that has already derailed and nearly got this thread locked.

Anyone privy know why the earth barge STILL isn't opening at the end of IllumiNations? It has been at least since the early part of May that effect has been broke and it really ruins the finale. Sad to see this show slip into decline the last few years. Pains me to say but they need to just put the old horse out to pasture.
It's weird because the problem began sometime in May and they have been using the maxi barges for the pyro that should come from the globe when it opens, BUT on the 4th of July the globe opened and operated as normal with its torch and pyro functioning properly.

Ah yes, I remember it working that night because I distinctly thought it was a (perfect) illusion since it had been so long. I guess its good they have a contingency but the maxi barges just don't have that "wow" factor
Yeah it's just not the same. And I really don't understand how it worked perfectly that night if it's been broken since May.

I hear what you're saying and don't disagree. I was just giving you a hard time because I had a nearly identical discussion with Mr Ford about BLT which happens to also be his home resort and he stayed in the grand villas once and had similar issues.

Not going to rehash them but frankly there is no excuse for the issues seen RECENTLY (2013 and up) with DVC we pay ever increasing maintenance fees for ever decreasing levels of Resort Maintenance,

Prior to 2013 yes there was the occasional small issue like the odd broken coffeemaker or missing pots or pans or a sticky door.

Nothing earth shattering or something that was not resolved with a quick call to the front desk

Now it's major appliances broken, physical damage to the room and it requires camping out at the front desk to get it fixed.

Having 800 points means a not inconsiderable bill for MF's and one sours rapidly towards Disney when the resort condition objectively degrades yet MF's increase by double digit percentages

Part of the problem is Disney has chosen to run their resorts at 'Full Military Thrust' which you can do for a SHORT time without breaking things bu

Disney does not have enough inventory put aside to take rooms out of service for necessary repairs and refurbishment and it SHOWS.

Yet Disney expects us to be happy with constantly degrading resorts and services.

I own at OKW, AKL and BLT. BTW

No not at all... it is a lot to maintain, but...we the DVC owners are paying for maintenance, and as they reduce their staff, I do not rermember my maintenance fees going down...
Maybe they should have a little class and send out videos to all DVC owners about ow to respect the property for their own, and other guest's future enjoyment... If, say, your precious snowflake tears the curtain rod out of the ceiling, instead of pretending it was someone else report it so that it can get fixed before the next guest arrives and has to call for maintenance...Don't steal the meager kitchen supplies, if you break something or notice it broken, have a check sheet for checkout where those things could be reported and dealt with before the next guest has to inherit the problem,

Precisely - now when i find something broken on checkin i request someone from the front desk to document the issue so we dont end up footing the bill for the broken appliance/furniture/room feature

Thanks for the notes and posts. Just very busy right now. Hope to be able to post later in the week. I have lots going on and there is also lots going on at Disney (both Anaheim and Orlando) that I am researching. ... Also, one of the things is quite explosive (if true).

I was wondering if someone would mention it. I knew they weren't firing off fireworks from it in the finale, but it is a bummer to not see it open and the flame ignite.

Why not complain to the association? You rent DVC points and as such you are considered to be a member of the association.

Luigi's is an awful ride when you know what this tech can do. I wanted Luigi's to be like Aquatopia on land and it wasn't 25% of that.

Hmmmmm..... I have to disagree with that. Luigi's purposefully uses the tech in a way that could not be done with a track. Aquatopia isn't really an effective demonstration of a trackless system.

Whether the versions are fun or well dressed is another matter, but Luigi's is the best tech demo of LPS vehicles. More so than even Mystic Manor or Pooh (even though both are significantly, significantly, significanty, significantly better rides).

I think what you mean is Luigi's is disappointing because you've seen LPS used in major E-tickets and the first use of it in the US was for a B-ticket. That has nothing to do though with them Ineffectively using the system.

How am I supposed to sleep with so much at stake ;) :in pain: Hoping to hear this explosive rumor regardless of its validity.
