Oh man...I didn't catch that. Have we been debating Star Wars and i'm not realizing you work for disney? Please say no?

Seminole county?
No, I don’t work for Disney. I interviewed after graduating from college and they offered me a job as a cast member. I was looking for a white collar position...so basically Mickey missed out on a great opportunity.

But you're there every week though, right?

Man...well played. I'm not disputing your opinion - it doesn't agree with mine and that's fine - of the movie. But you might be in close proximity to the "disney" of it. I've been there...things are different in the swamp.

This is my actual backup plan in life if I cant make this phd thing work.

Most every college kid in suburban America thinks working for Disney would be awesome. It's usually not...blame the college program. And some did and were able to climb the ranks a little...but woke up one day and got the hades out of there...so they can tell you the story better...if you can find one ;)

Luckily I dont have the patience to work my way up from CM, so it's unlikely I'll be hired in the first place. I suppose I should have a backup backup plan. Any suggestions?

I go as often as I can. Usually a few times a month. Some months a few times a week. I’m moving in once SWGE opens up.

TLJ is pretty much bombing in China.

Especially when you take into account how much they spent marketing it there and that it's showing on more screens than any other film.

It was obvious from the first midnight screenings that things weren't good - TLJ took in only $560K, versus TFA's $2.5M.

The news hasn't gotten better over the weekend, because as of right now, it's at about $8.2M - struggling to keep in second place, versus the #1 film (locally made "The Ex-File Part 3" - a romantic comedy) which has made almost double so far ($15.8M), despite playing on less screens.

Given that Jumanji is coming next week, and it has outperformed estimates everywhere it has opened, this is going to en up being pretty embarrassing, IMO, because it's just down from here. I've seen some start to pull out the old "Well, Star Wars isn't big in China because the original films weren't see there for many years..." etc. excuses, but TFA ended up pulling in $124M there, despite that. TLJ is going to struggle to bring in a 1/3 or even 1/4 of that when all is said and done.

Star Wars is not popular in China because the story line runs counter to cultural foundations.
