A Spirited 15 Rounds ...

I was at DL on Saturday and also had a 30 minute waiting period just as @RSoxNo1 said. Still worth it in my eyes as I was able to snag FPs for IJA, Star Tours, and BTM, all after 7 pm, something I never was able to do in the past. And this was on an exceptionally crowded day, as well.

I used maxpass over Labor Day weekend and had the same experience as Matt. As soon as you scan your pass at the ride entrance you could make another fast pass with no delay.

The 30 minutes delay only showed until the pass was redeemed.

At WDW, you may not even be able to get that good in a whole day on a non-busy day. God I love Disneyland.

If you are working for the public sector your job probably is 100% secure and thats a problem

Maybe up north. But down south most government employees are at-will and don't have the ability to unionize outside of the federal level. Trust me, if they don't want you - a reduction in force because of budgetary purposes is easy to justify. The days of working in the government and having 100% job security are long gone my friend.

I would love to know who thinks 2 attractions constitutes a "land".

Disney and Universal. This is on par with most lands:
  • Hogsmeade: 1 new ride and incorporating two old rides
  • Diagon Alley: 2 new rides
  • Cars Land: 3 new rides
  • SWL: 2 new rides
  • Pandora: 2 new rides
  • Adventureland: 3 rides
  • Storybook Circus: 1 new ride, incorporating two old rides
  • New Fantasy Land: 2 new rides

Of course these lands have more than rides as their attractions. They could have shows and M&Gs and restaurants, etc....

Hogsmeade is getting another "E" as we speak, and Diagon Alley might be getting started on 2 more by Jan.

Other than needing to pay for the service sounds like Maxpass is what FP+ should have been

At the end of the day, the Falcon is an elaborate simulator attraction. It will ride very much like what we already have in Star Tours; but, the whole ride experience is more than just the trip around the RV's carousels being shaken. For a Star Wars fan, the entire experience is going be like a Potter fan going through King's Cross and rounding Platform 9 3/4 and seeing the bright red train spewing out steam. For a Star Wars fan, walking up into the ship and sitting down in the "mostly" authentic cockpit and pulling back on the hyperspace levers will be an experience that isn't measured by how many degrees of yaw/roll/pitch the motion base can exert. There is a reason why guests to the sets of the Force Awakens and Last Jedi shed tears when visiting the Falcon sets.

Since its kind of the "cool kid" thing around here to say you aren't a Star Wars fan, I think a lot of folks look past this factor of the MF ride.

It sounds *perfect*. People are going to have tears in their eyes just seeing the exterior of the Falcon in person. Even if it's just a "personal size" Star Tours, they are going to be fufilling the dreams of several generations of many adults, as well as children, who aren't going to care if it's showing off some new technical marvel.

I literally had tears in my eyes when I first heard they were building the land, and even bigger tears when I saw the model. Piloting the Falcon may actually be more than my little geek heart can handle. I'ma be a mess on opening day. lol!

My husband has literally dreamed of this his entire life. I wasn't a huge SW geek as a kid, but I've gotten really into it as an adult, so I'm totally geeking out too, lol.

Disney getting out of video games themselves and now simply licensing out their IP was a pretty stupid move especially now that Star Wars is stuck with EA, one of the worst publishers out there for their practices. There's a reason they were voted worst company in America multiple times. I remember how cool Star Wars 1313 looked which was then canceled because Disney shut down LucasArts.

The biggest loss for me though was Epic Mickey. Talk about an amazing concept if only they had the right talent behind it. Now it'll likely never see the light of day again with a well deserved reboot.

I'm still disappointed with the lack of new forgotten characters in the sequel. I was hoping to see Fifi (Pluto's first love interest) and Clara Cluck but the only ones in were The Three Little Pigs.

Agreed 100%! Electronic Arts has been in the gutter for years. Disney is foolish to not suck it up and find some people with passion for gaming and setting them loose on all their IPs.
I miss the days when Disney video games were actually fun and decent mainly the ones from Capcom like the Magical Quest Series .

That's it right there. Style over substance. When it comes to Battlefront it didn't even match the features of the original games on the PlayStation 2. But it wasn't all bad. EA was more then happy to sell their expensive season passes for all that missing content ;)

Stuff like this is what's bringing down the industry.

And yet the industry continues blazing headfirst into things like 4K graphics and VR. Gun, meet foot.

I still think Disney of all companies would've been able to keep their own game developers. The first Epic Mickey did pretty well on the Wii. It was the sequel that was a terrible flop. It really does deserve a second chance with a reboot.
I want to see The Gremlins again. :(

One the first point, totes agreed. Some of the most beautiful games I've ever played have also been the most boring. It doesn't matter how realistic it looks if the gameplay isn't compelling. (I'm looking at you FFXV...)

I'll give you that VR is a mess, it does show promise but there are a lot of hurdles to overcome. 4K however isn't really that difficult or expensive to pull off. Most of the work is already done, as models and textures are dumbed down to make 1080, all they need is the hardware capable of 4K and were good to go.

Epic Mickey was a mess though, people forgave the first game for its shortcomings because it was new and experimental. When the sequel didn't fix them though... game over.
Is it sad that the 3DS Epic Mickey game was better than the actually sequel despite being very short.

Wow that would be awesome! What's maybe coming to Diagon Alley and where would they put it?
Current prevailing rumor that everyone agrees on is Fear Factor Live will either quietly not come back after Bill and Ted's ends after Halloween, or close after the Holidays and be replaced with The Ministry of Magic. No one seems to know what is in it. Speculation is all over the map. Most believe it is one attraction, "The Ministry of Magic". Yet, no one has a clue what it is. Some say a walk through. Others a Trackless dark ride. Although everyone knows it not 3d.

I said I thought it was going to be The Ministry of Magic with 2 separate attractions inside. A Floo Network Interactive Dark Coaster based on the Dynamic Attractions SFX Coaster ride system. And a Courtroom attraction using the "Puzzle Theater" ride system that Universal patented earlier this year.

More specifically, The Aurors Office Floo Network. Where we utilize the Floo Network to zip around the Wizarding World and gather up death eaters that escaped after The Battle of Hogwarts. And Courtroom 10. That is the courtroom that they tried all the Death Eaters in after the First Wizarding War. I expect it to be a trial of a baddie like Fenrir Grayback who escaped after The Battle of Hogwarts. It would be Universal's answer to ExTERRORestrial Alien Attack.

I think it will be set in the timeframe after the end of the book series and will include brand new content written by JK herself.

That all sounds awesome to me, so whatever the final plans end up being, I can't wait!

When I saw Star Wars the first time, I didn't want to fly the falcon. I wanted to fly an X-Wing Fighter and do the trench run. I wanted to play chess on the falcon.
Imagine if they had designed this so that you could choose to pilot the Falcon, an X-Wing, or a TIE Fighter. Your mission would obviously depend on which craft you were piloting. Someone needs to call Mickey and suggest this for the next Star Wars land!

See kids, this is why you leave spell check on. Someone is getting smacked by the mouse later today.

I'm in the sign business...you guys seriously wouldn't believe how often stuff like this happens. The company I worked for years ago was installing 8-foot tall letters along the roofline of a restaurant/lounge that was supposed to read "RIVERHOUSE". NO ONE realized until a year later that it said "RIVERHUOSE". Not even the client's customers, lol. Many, many times, the graphics department preps and produces everything spelled correctly, but it gets installed wrong. (Sometimes complete words get cut into pieces or installed letter-by-letter for different reasons.)
