Great shots, thanks for the update. Seriously considering buying into these.

I already did... Last year when they went on sale.... And can I just say how thrilled I am that I purchased into them??? I am really considering purchasing more points in Bay Lake after seeing how awesome it truly is...

I attended a DVC event at the Contemporary on July 2 and ended up adding BLT points to my membership. :) I really love it there and am thrilled to be back on a monorail hotel. I don't want to jack the op's thread, but I have a lot of pictures I can post, too. The pool looks great. There's also a Top of the World lounge (the original one was located where the California Grill is now) with an perfect observation deck for the fireworks. The audio will even be piped in to that area, as well as available on guest room TVs. We'll be staying there next summer. :)

Greetings from The Vacation Kingdom of the World! Today I had the opportunity to attend an 'Open Mouse' at the Contemporary Bay Lake Tower. I took lots of pictures, most of which I'll be posting later today. Everything about the new wing is fantastic, with the exception of the generic condo-style exterior. Here's a few pics I took a few days ago to whet your appetite, and I'll be back later today with more:

I was also there yesterday, and was completely blown away by the grand villa. The Top of the World lounge was very nice, as well, with some neat concept art of various Tomorrowlands around the world and a neat glass piece of some early monorail concept art.

One last look at the community hall, Monopoly with a view...

On to the elevator area, note the base for one of the Sky Way Bridge's support cables outside

This is an example of the type of artwork you'll find in the elevator areas.

Looking to the right, these signs were all over the length of the tour, many areas of the hotel are still being worked, some painting still going on, etc.

Well, we finally have a good scary evil tower that represents everything wrong with Disney these days, so that the good guys can fight their way up to Jimi Hendrix's All Along the Watchtower, wherein they do battle at the top, and having defeated the Evil Disney, they rush to escape the collapsing building-just in time. As they look over- A rainbow emerges from the clouds, the evil Vacation Club Tower washed away - a new era of Freedom begins!

:lookaroun

What I'm trying to say is that I REALLY don't like it.

Oh-I do enjoy the irony of Monopoly being played there, being that's about darn bourgeois building larger and larger towers no matter the location ONLY so can get more and more money for no reason other than to have it, and they do get alot of it when you build a large tower and unsuspecting people land on it and are forced to give them money for building it, and they think it's fine because "They already built it, might as well enjoy it."

If you ever near that idea, please cast it from your mind!

The first set of rooms to look at was a two-bedroom (which is a combination of a studio and a one-bedroom). I believe there are plenty of pictures out there already from the model that has been at Saratoga Springs, so I'll just post a couple of good shots. There are more in my album if you want to see them.

The BLT appears to be using the same numbering system as the rest of the Contemporary, so it looks like the rooms have similar numbers to their predecessors in the old North Garden Wing!

It's neat artwork of the Contemporary!

They had model rooms open on both sides (with the rooms as mirror images of each other), to give you a feel of how they are in both configurations, so that's why the angles might seem different or flipped in a couple of these pictures.

It's a shame it's local and facade is so off putting....But the interior is nice.

Peek! One of the bathrooms.

A bathroom with a TV! It's in an odd spot, though, it didn't seem like you could easily watch it from the tub or the shower.

...that looks down into the living room!

Ample closet space.

Another good look at the kitchen area. As with the two-bedroom, they showed off both sides of the Grand Villa.

For all of you laundry fans out there.

Heading upstairs to see the Top of the World on the 16th floor. That's more stories than the big brother next door, by the way.

A nice feature of the elevators in this building are that they have a voice announcing the floors and such, just like in other modern hotels. I hope they add this to the elevators in the A-frame at some point.

More amazing WDW-inspired artwork, a stylized look at the skyline of the Magic Kingdom with Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Cinderella Castle, and Space Mountain. It's such a refreshing change from the over-abundance of character art. Hopefully more art like this will find it's way over to the A-frame, too.

Looking back towards the outside.

Up above on this floor, there is a nice chandelier.

The ceiling mounting for the chandelier bears a familiar, ever-omnipresent shape.

Always exciting... a restroom...

Hinting at the very family-oriented nature of this new wing, a child-height sink.
