A newbie to scrapbooking

Hey Everyone,

I have a good idea just dont know how to do it. I want to make a pocket for my quide maps, any ideas on how to do it?

Yes eagles they are your ideas hope you don't mind me using them, I love that idea.

Hi Butterfly.

I've made pockets before. You basically need a half sheet of cardstock and a full sheet of cardstock. Use ahesive around three sides of the half sheet, attach it to the bottom of the full sheet - and you have a pocket! Then you can decorate as much or as little as you would like!

I'll look around and see if I have any pictures of any I've done.

You're welcome! Although I have confession about my pocket pages. They're kind of fake!

When you put brochures or other papers into a pocket, they all slide to the bottom and are just a big ugly lump. So I arrange them nicely at different heights in the pocket - and then tape them down!!

You can see them all but you can't take them out!:lol:

now as far as you taping your maps and things down, i would have done the same thing, as to me that would be part of the page.
i am working on my monster truck page, and was thinking about my tickets, i thought about putting a pocket (because of this thread), then i was wondering about how to place my tickets so they could be seen.

It was easier to cut and past the photos then search old threads to figure out where they were.

All I can say is WOW! Disneyfalcon!! Beautiful. I especially like the idea of the timeline and the page with meeting Mickey with the pics in the different shades. Great job, good inspiration.

Sorry everyone, I've been working on my scrapbook but cant add the pictures at the moment. Once I get them up I will post them.

I have a question how do you pick from all of your pictures? Most of my pictures I love thats why I took them, and printed them out. But when doing my scrapbook, It seems I have so many.

Butterfly it's definitely hard to pick. I really try to look honestly at my pics to see which ones are essential to tell the story. You'd be suprised by how few pictures can tell a whole story sometimes.

If you really can't narrow it down, photoshop your pictures to small sizes so you can fit a lot on one page.

i used to pick only a couple of picks for an event. and do only 1 or 2 pages. but a couple of gals here mentioned how they use all their photos and make albums.

so that is where i am now. i will not use the pics that are blurry and pics that just won't look good no matter how much photoshopping i do to it.

but if i have 3 of the same thing, i will try to use the best of the three.

i know we are of no help.

i do agree about using the photo editing programs and resizing your photos so you can get a lot on one page.

i also can't wait to see your pages.
