Thats why we are going 2nd week in Dec this year. Its upsetting when the tree and garland/wreathes isnt up the first weekend of Dec. It'll get all put up around the Tuesday before we get there. The XMas party is so much nicer with the tree up and lit and the garland stretching across main st with the snow.

Do they put the tree up right after the taping of the Parade?

I was there last year, and I went to XMas party Sunday Night of weekend tapings. It had no tree or garland blocking castle. The Tree and Garland was put up before opening on that Tuesday, our last day. That seems to be the normal routine. It really is that much better at night time with the tree and garland for the party. Much more impressive looking. It looks naked without it.

The MK decorations, the Osbornes and the Holiday Finale of Illuminations just make my holiday season complete.

If anyone hasn't seen the Holiday Finale yet of Illuminations... Your jaw will drop. I was speechless and blown away!

MK is JUST beautiful this time of the year. Dec. 5 can't get here soon enough. I really enjoy the Halloween decorations but Christmas time
in the parks is SO SPECIAL. If, by chance, you visit the MK and notice some guy with a red Patriots hat on just standing and staring with a big smile on his face IT'S ME!!!! :ROFLOL::sohappy:

They MOVED ROY AGAIN. This ALWAYS ticks me off... Roy is not something thats "in the way"!

That's nothing. Here's a shot of the Partners statue from last year:

I believe the garland everyone is talking about is in the pictures at the above link crossing Main Street.

Since it's currently up, does this mean they take it down when filming the parade? I noticed the cables were up last week when I was there but no garland, which provided a fairly unobstructed view down Main Street at the Castle.

I agree with everyone else though, it's not quite complete without the tree!

Ok! I would be ticked if the garland was missing above mainstreet!

I know they don't put the tree up till after the parade. I'm sure that'd be a pain in the butt doing that over and and over. So, the Tuesday after Parade weekend, the tree will be up and garland. Now, the Garland I dont know if they just take it down and put it back up. I know the cables are up, but that's all I know. And yes, it is COMPLETELY different with the garland and tree up. When you walk through the train station you just stand there and just go "Wow". Without it, you just don't get that same feeling. That's why I always recommend a Holiday trip the week after the Parade Tapings. Everything is 100% done and it's amazing. And Crowds are still VERY low compared to other times of the year.

Not old, just vintage.
I swear one of these years I'm going to go the second week in December just so I can see the tree and garland in person. I love doing the first weekend because it is quiet but I always forget about the lack of tree and garland until a few weeks before my trip.

Ive done 3 December trips. 2 2nd Week, and 1 1st week(last year). It's still great in the first week. MK is just a little weakl, but everything else is still amazing. 2nd week is the best!! Cant wait till Dec 9th!

These types of updates would usually be somewhat bittersweet to me as I loved seeing them but would be dejected that I wouldn't be there to see them live. But not this year! I'll be there to enjoy all of the Disney Holiday splendor in the very near future.

While skimming the boards and listening to some Radio Buena Vista, I'm especially missing WDW this morning. With no trip in the foreseeable future, these pics made me feel a bit better. Thanks Steve for the updates :)
