A look at the Tower of Terror refurbishment

I was there yesterday and it kinda made the tower look pretty awesome. Like an abandoned construction project lol

Clever. Good comparison.

I don't know why people keep saying this is "bad show". Bad show means "negligence" or "error" at WDW - a CM being out of character, a broken AA that guests are permitted to see, or broken effects that have gone unnoticed.

This is an intentional refurbishment. There is no way to avoid the sight of the scaffolding, except for a $10,000 scrim, which would then double as a giant sail, putting undue forces on the scaffolding and building.

We should all be happy that the ride remains in operation while they make it look good again. We can't say that for Splash Mountain, and we definitely won't be able to say that when/if they ever decide to fix the Yeti (side note...Yeti = bad show).

I hope that they fix the mechanism that used to allow the elevators to "tilt" out of the elevator shaft. I don't recall that part of the ride working in a long time.

oh gosh...

Sorry..could not resist. That was the other one I always thought of comparing with the Tilt.

I am so glad this refurb is happening. I always know its rough being at a park and having something such as main street be seemingly be 20 percent under scaffolding themes like it was seeming last year. But its such a good thing to know they are finally fixing some things and hopefully getting back to a sharper standard. That is why this Tower of Terror work is great to see. As an earlier post said, this is not bad show. Yeti, that would be bad show.

I agree completely. Scaffolding and scrims might be ugly now, but it means they're FINALLY giving all these places the TLC they deserve. The final result will be worth the temporary ugliness.

After they fix the elevator tilt mechanism and put King Louie back in the jungle cruise, I hope they place the Yeti in A mode...

Very happy to see that ToT is getting some TLC. Does anyone else know if this is just a touch-up and if ToT is getting any new enhancements, or just a touch-up?

I know how to resolve the bickering on refurbs. We blow everything up or tear everything down every time a refurb is needed, and build something new. That way the endless whining and complaining about bad show can be eliminated. Oh wait, it won't be eliminated because people can never be happy.

Suck it up and deal with it people. These things need to be done. But some of you are4 to pig headed to understand that.
