A little bit cheeky, a little bit naughty or just downright wrong?

Is it wrong to use a family members FP?

Your party is entitled to those Fastpasses. I don't see anything wrong with "redistributing" them within your party. I would only see it as "wrong" if you were forcibly taking something that belonged to someone else (picture yourself getting off of Splash Mountain, knocking down a nearby little girl and grabbing her Magic Band, and screaming, "boys rule, girls drool!" as you run back into the Fastpass queue). ;)

When I went when my kids were younger they wouldn't ride the mountains but I would use their park tickets for fastpasses all the time. It is actually no different than using their Rider Switch Service and even better because the time was set aside for the fastpass anyways. There is nothing wrong imo in doing this and I would continue to do it today and just swap magic bands but my kids ride everything now. :)

Only thing to consider - there might be something your wife would like to do that's eligible for a FP+. The two of you should review all the stuff that uses a FP that might not have used one before - there might be something she'd love to do, and can do it while you're using your FP for whatever ride you choose, then regroup and do stuff together.

Don't see any harm in this what-so-ever. Although, I would preface that by saying sometimes it's nice to pay it forward. On previous trips if I had a FP ticket on me for a big time ride and saw someone coming into the park, I'd give it to them. They might not use it, but it's the thought that counts.

Unfortunately there is something she loves to do whilst I use the FP's on the rides I love that she doesn't .......................................... shop!!!!!! As she delights in telling me numerous times "When you're on those rides I get to look around the shops without you standing over me and asking whether I need that item or asking me how much it costs". I don't think there's anything she'd rather do than worry me to death whilst I ride than buying stuff we can't afford, that we don't need, that has Mickey printed on it :arghh:

In all honesty though, we've been so many times and go so often during our three week stay that we've done practically everything in each park multiple times before. However this September with FP+ advance booking hopefully working for the first time ever for us, we will sit down beforehand and plan together what we're using our 3 FP+'s each for. I know for a fact though that she'll offer me some of hers under the pretence of love and kindness when in fact she's thinking "Ooh goody, shopping time without him complaining" :banghead:

God bless the "Ignore" button.
As a tried and true "rule follower", I see no problem with it. Your party paid for X number of FP, and that's what you're using.
