A Haunted Mansion Question

That's one reason.

The other important one is if you're leaning on the wall that is stretching, you would feel it. It's to keep the illusion that the walls are actually stretching and not stationary.

Imagine the front door to your home - now take the door off of the front door and install it on the wall a few feet away from the front door.

Well how about putting something up around those lights that would still allow the sensor to work THROUGH it, but it would at least partially hide or dull the brightness of them so it's not as easily noticeable?

How about just covering up / dulling down the LEDs on the sensors so Joe Guest dosn`t see it?

Trivia; Phantom Manors stretch rooms are also elevators, but again fitted for the best show - you climb a hill from ground level, enter the Manor on the upper floor, then take the elevator stretch room back to ground level to enter the show building via a portrait corridor. The more costly elevators were installed just for show so you can actually enter via the Manors front door, high up on the hillside. The portrait corridor is just for show too - the railroad is way back behind the show building.

Really,is it really that big of a deal? If people want to hurry up and get there first - so be it.

Just be glad that fire laws let them get away with what they DO get away with.

It could be a lot worse....

Lets just assume for right now that the sensors are no longer needed and are removed. Even with the lights gone people will still congregate around the door opening to the load area simply by recognizing what portrait is above it. Therefore if we keep this going perhaps Disney should install doors on every side of the room and then make it spin around and stop at a random side - that way no one will ever know where exactly the exit will be at any given time.

The lights on the sensors are not a big deal, after all you are supposed to be looking up at the portraits depicting the early demise of the mansions inhabitants.

Stay together...

Or my favorite...

Get out...

I like to be the last out of the room just for that. :)

For real? I'll have to stick around for that...never heard about it at all.

(or is that what the cast member says to those who won't move?)

Nope. It's the whispering voices that say it. It's the last thing before the doors close (so to be nice to the CM, be standing at the open doorway while you're listening).

If I recall, the sequence is:
Ghost Host: "And let's all stay together, PLEASE."
Whispers/Gargoyles: "Stay together, stay together... "
[giggles and laughter]
[flying bat sounds]
Whispers/Gargoyles: "Get...out...."

As I was reading this thread, I looked over at my digital picture frame that my wife bought me for Christmas, and it was currently on a picture of the Haunted Mansion!!
