A Freaky Trip Report

Once upon a time...in a snowy wonderland called "Boston" there lived a wee bit of a Freak...and the snow really got this Freak down...so...the Freak decided he needed to get away from the frigid air of "Boston" and head for warmer climates. Where else should this Freak head??? But, for the happiest place on Earth...Walt Disney World

It was early on a Thursday morning in December when the Freak was heading off to work...While in his trusty Chevro-sleigh he trucked through the traffic and noticed something about the vehicle in front of him that got him daydreaming about his upcoming trip that he was leaving for that evening...

The workday had ended..
Freak was very excited because in just a few hours...
he'd be with his favorite mouse and the terror of towers ;) (little Dr. Seuss thrown in there)

but, alas, he'd miss this snow...
but to warmer weather...he would go go go...

(This pic was taken right before we headed to the airport)

The plane needed de-icing so we got off late...
It seemed like it took forever...for us to leave the gate.

(The plane was supposed to leave at 7:25PM but we didn't head out until 9:15PM)

The Freak and his family finally touched ground
and a sigh of relief was the only heard sound.

Off to Coronado Springs Freak shouted out loud.
And a guy named Carlos yelled, "I'll take you" over the crowd.

We all loaded ourselves into the cab
And Carlos was not just a good driver...he was fab

Up to El Centro the cab and us pull...
Don took the bags...he was strong as a bull

Check-in was, as usual, a treat
My sister's legs were tired...so she took a seat.

Todd brought the five of us up to our room
Oh yeah...the luggage fell off the cart...and went boom

We all settled down for our first night's rest...
We have 3 parks to hit...would tomorrow be best???

At 8 in the morning I awoke from my slumber...
Happy and Excited...I whistled a festive little number.

Grabbed the camera and Dumbo ears and away we were off.
EPCOT had been calling for us...and waiting we had enough

The sun was out and gleaming over Lake Dorado
If I had driven...I wouldn't need a bus...we'd take my Silverado

We walked to El Centro to wait for our ride...
Too bad it was a lot like Boston temps outside :(

(Temp was low 50's on Friday)

Here's a pic of Coronado looking at the "Dig Site" from across Lake Dorado.

We exit the bus and head for the gates
Knowing that pure fun and pleasure surely awaits.

Spaceship Earth had never looked so grand.
AT&T's "History through Communication" was first at hand.

(Not too fond of the "safety" screens)

To Test Track we go for a ride that's a mile.
That line seemed forever...because we were in it for a while.

Mission Space is a ride that I looked at with glee
Because with the little wall, I didn't need the tippy toes to see.

Wonders of Life we head to see Buzzy
Just me and my sis...oh yeah, and my cuzzy :)

Body Wars needs help like we all know
That ride with the splinter...it just has to go.

Universe of Energy with Ellen and Bill Nye
Better than the first...because of the Science Guy

Back we walk towards Innoventions East
We are beginning to get hungry...so we find a place to feast.

It's still early so we grab some breakfast food.
We waited in line at the Fountain View...instead of cutting...(because that would be rude)

A Cinnamon Bun and bottle of OJ
It helped the five of us through the beginning of the day.

The Living Seas is a pavilion that we skipped.
When my mom found out we didn't want to go in...she nearly flipped.

We decided to hold off on ol' Figgy for today
Because we were heading back to Epcot the next day.

As we walked from Future World to the Lagoon,
We talked about Mission Space and how we could see the Moon.

The decorations were vibrant and pretty...
A heck of a lot better than the lights in my city.

(Yes, I know I jumped from morning to night with this pic...but I didn't have a "daytime" pic of the tree)

World Showcase we hit and to the left we start,
To Mexico, Norway, China we dart.

In Mexico we rode the River of Time...
El Rio De Tiempo (that's harder to rhyme)

Maelstrom was next on the vacation hit list,
If I saw the bird of MaElsTRomRocks, I'd be pis-sed.

In China we grabbed a quick egg roll
by this time I needed a Scorpion Bowl.

Germany was next and I settled for a beer.
Becks was on tap and the barkeep was a dear... (quite cute too)

A couple of cold ones later and I was feeling fine
Spain was still set up...the one from the Festival of Food & Wine.

The American Adventure was just up ahead...
But we bypassed the show and saw Santa instead :)

(My mom is standing to the left of Santa, my sister is on his left knee...my cousin is on his right knee (near me) and my aunt is standing behind me)

Around World Showcase we continue to go...
There was a lot of people there so we just went with the flow.

Most of the countries was just snackin' and shoppin...
But in the UK the Beatles had us singin' and boppin.

Night began to fall along with the already cold air...
Back to Mexico we head...for our tasty dinner fare.

Pollo a las Rajas I chose off the menu
What a nice setting...just the perfect venue.

(Oh, and Maria...the waiter commended me on pronouncing it correctly... Poi-yo ah-las Ra-has  )

Margaritas went around the table...
Except for my sis...who wasn't able. (under 21)

Strawberry for my aunt and I
Mango for cuz and for mom it was lime.

Maria suggested for the strawberry with kick...
But it didn't come with salt...so I couldn't even lick :(

Dinner was finished and the tab we did pay.
Left the hidden Mickey along with our tip and we ended our stay.

Candlelight Procession awaited us yet.
We bought blankets in Mexico so we were all set.

The Candlelight Procession left me all tingly
They even had bells...that were silver and jingly.

Could this night get any more fun???
But of course...because Illuminations still was to be done.

We Go On is one of my faves...
Too bad they don't play it at any of the raves.

Illuminations was spectacular as it always is
Only the Disney company can pull it off...they're the best in the biz.

Back to the Spaceship Earth we all flock...
It's getting late and we have to be up at 6 o'clock.

(Here's a pic of my mom, my sister, and myself outside the American Adventure right after Candlelight...notice the size of those bags...and they had stuff SHIPPED too)

I make real good rajas!! Did you like them? :slurp:

The blanket shopping.... ha! sooo typical on a cold night! I think the mexican pavillion is the one that makes more money on those chilly nights! :animwink:

Saturday morning is here and we're ready
This morning it's EPCOT again...but slow and steady.

MouseGear we head and I saw a mullet on a fellow
GaryT saw me here...but didn't say hello :(

Figment was next so we head to Imagination
But it was closed...Lil Figgy went on vacation :(

We were all bummed but didn't want to leave this early
So, we went to Ice Station Cool and conned my cuz into Beverly

Off to MGM we decided to head...
We wanted to ride the Tower with the dead.

We hop off of the boat and walk up and see a giant Stitch.
My mom's ticket didn't work but found out it was just a glitch.

(this tree was outside of the Studios before you entered the gates...along with Stitch in the next pic)
