A few questions...never cruised before!

So my new hubby and I booked a bounce back to wdw while we were on our honeymoon for 10 days, anyways we are considering shortening that trip and starting with a 3 night cruise but we have never cruised before (and dh is very hesitant to cruise, just because he is enjoying wdw so much). I have worked out the pricing and it is actually the same to substitute these 3 nights on a cruise...
-what is included in the price? Most meals (what does that mean?) and non-alcaholic beverages?
-do you reccomend excursions in Nassau and castaway cay?
-any tips? Or recommendations?

Look at the FAQ thread for a lot of information that may help.

Yes, all meals except adult only restaurants are included. Non alcoholic beverages are included with meals and from the drink stations. If you order one from a bartender you will pay for it.

Nassau has some great options like Atlantis, but on a 3 night cruise it's a good day to stay on the ship and get more time there too.

Castaway Cay has good ones as well, but you can also not plan a thing that day and have a great day.

Now having done my first cruise I have little to no desire to get off in Nassau. Atlantis does not even tempt with the price to just walk around the place. I found even the RC ship to offer enough to get back on within 120 minutes. My DCL trip upcoming I will get off to get my PP stamped but that is about it.

You don't go through any immigration control getting on/off for DCL... unless you seek it out somewhere else. They do it by your keycard.

I do think there are things worth seeing off the boat.. the dolphin swims are great (We did Blue Lagoon), and Atlantis is it's own monster. I had no interest in touring town... but for the family Blue Lagoon was worth every penny.

We went into this building with the white roofs. Had to get the first stamp on the passport somehow!

You can take a taxi to Atlantis and walk around for just the price of the taxi. You won't have total access but you can see stuff. Just sayin'. ;) I've recently found 3 things I've yet to do in Nassau that very much interest me: rum cake factory, chocolate factory, & rum distillery. All offer tours (I think at least 1 charges $10pp) and samples. I agree, tho. There really isn't a ton to do in Nassau. If you go get your passport stamped, stop by the little window right before the security check back onto the pier (it's on your left as you walk towards the checkpoint) and buy stamps. Use the Bahamian stamps to mail post cards to yourself, friends, and family from Castaway Cay. They'll be postmarked Castaway Cay. It's a neat souvenir and costs very little. :D

I never noticed your name on the Disneyland articles. But it immediately popped out on the recent DCL ones. I immediately thought that those would be have been wonderful to have when I was planning my first cruise! So, do you have any more cruise topics in mind that you will cover for them?

I have been reading that blog for a long time and like it because most of it is very factual and not a lot of gushing about how wonderful everything is.

Yep! If you click on my name you'll see all the ones I've written. Maybe you associate my name with DCl more! For understandable reasons, lol.

I have several ideas coming up, but I am always open to suggestions!

I never had any desire to visit Nassau, but I love factory tours.
