A Disney Park in... WISCONSIN?

Ha, Ha, Ha. April Fools.
This topic never in the News and Rumors forum and the nature of the opening post told told me that was not an April Fools topic a first place. The article matter of fact was published on March 28th.

The fact is newspapers and media sites stay away from starting to do April Fools day stuff on that day unlike some posters on some non news sites do.

The Newspaper article linked to also was an opinion/editorial piece, not a news piece also. This was not a bad opinion/editorial piece compared to what I read in other papers despite being far fetched.

Not really!

Again, I would assume if they would build a new park, it would be in the very southern states so they can have as much warm weather as possible year round:

For the most part all they would be doing is poaching visitors from the other two parks. The added (massive) costs of building, operating and maintaining a third US park would never be offset by the small amount of local business that would be added. The infrastructure already exists a short plane ride or truck-haul away so why take business from an existing cost and transfer it to a new one and lose the benefits of volume in the process?

Plus, Texans like to talk about Texas and Florida gives them a great opportunity to do just that. And they can show off their boots and buckles to a whole world of folks who think the only people who wear such things are the nut jobs on the subway.

Kenosha represent! Small world!

I think that editorial will be as far as that topic ever gets. I just hope something exciting happens to that site - such prime real estate and we could use something tourist-based, especially since we are losing Jelly Belly later this year. :(

Oh please... don't remind me that Jelly Belly is closing:cry:

Not that I expect a Disney park in the Midwest, but in Wisconsin tornadoes aren't all that frequent... although that comes from me who went through two tornadoes in the same night last summer. Hurricanes in WDW would be a bigger concern than tornadoes in Wisconsin IMO.

Actually in the statistics of the NOAA Central Florida is even a local "Tornado Alley" on the East Coast with nearly as much tornadoes as several midwestern states (of course not Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas panhandle etc.).

But of course the entire project is ridiculous, there is not the demand existing for a third Disney resort in the entire USA, DL and WDW are enough to cover up pretty everything. And IF they would build a third park (Don't forget that there were plans for Disney's America e.g.) it would not be that far in the north.

Good thing this is a mythical discussion or else the Wisconsin men's basketball team would have just alienated a large customer base, particularly from the south!
