A different kind of Disney Rumor

Hey all, I've been what I guess you could call a "lurker" here for a long time. I'm a former CP who worked mostly at Who Wants to Be a Millionaire- Play it! I joined right after coming home, and miss it greatly. Which brings me to my dilema. I'm looking to write a book that combines two of my loves Disney and..the Paranormal. There are stories upon stories of things happening at Disney, and to me it adds to the intrigue of the property. I would mainly be looking for facts to investigate the claims on some of the attractions. So, does anyone here have any stories? Specifically, I'd love if anyone who worked on the following could get in touch with me directly at JoeySinicki@hotmail.com

-Pirates
-SpaceShip Earth
-Tower
-Haunted Mansion
-Main street ops

Anyone else who has any stories is wlecome to as well.

And hey, if the idea doesn't pan out, it could be good for a free trip or two to Disney regardless :)

Yeah, I was thinking that to, but then you also see all of the books out there about how bad the Disney company is. Oh well, we'll just have to see how everything pans out I guess.

I've heard a storie from some CMs (not sure what year) but a woman came to the haunted mansion to ask the CMs at the ride if she could leave her sons ashes in the ride (it was supposedly his favorite ride) but the CMs denied her request so the woman snuck the ashes onto the ride and spread the ashes in the ride and it is said that the boy's ghost now haunts the mansion.

I've heard that also, I've also heard that a boy tried to get into candalabra scene in the haunted mansion. He climbed out of his car and fell, breaking his neck and dyeing in the process. Now from what I hear this is impossible, but it sure makes for an interesting story.

Oh and if anyone else is interested, there is a site theshadowlands.net that features a listing of haunted locations by state, and the Florida page has a bunch of Disney tidbits.

You don't want to go messing with George! Rumor has it he is the one that knocked out the power to MK on Christmas morning. I guess no one told him Merry Christmas. The utilidor can be a scary place when the power goes out!

I think if you go to the website www.Doombuggies.com a website dedicated to the Haunted Mansion, they have a section dedicated to rumors of "Real" Hauntings, including seeing a little girl on the ride, but no one was there.

I hate paranormal idiots.
You've gotta be kidding me...the same people who tell these so called "paranormal stores" are the ones who tell us about the "new rides" that never happened. If you've heard it from the CM grapevine, then its 100% B.S.
And in reply to the "Truly Haunted Mansion Photo", ANY freaking person can turn their body around and look behind them. BIG whoop.

Just my 2 cents...

In reference to all the legal concerns...

You raise a very interesting point -- how do all of these unofficial books do it? I realize you can "disclaim," saying it's not an official publication, and then acknowledge that certain names/etc are copyrighted by Disney. But some books I've seen don't even do that.

Not that I'm planning to write a book or anything...

I believe that most occurences that are deemed paranormal can be attributed to natural phenomenon, and I find it fascinating that these disney cases have barley been touched, yet some (George) are so well known that they have become an ongoing joke. to me, hearing what everyone else thinks has gone beyond the book, and just for fun.

that haunted mansion picture--- I've turned around in those seats like that before. The Doom Buggie's security system consisting of a self lowering lap bar, isn't exactly the club.

But hey-- at least it's not another rumor about Narnia, Harry Potter, Everest or that wonderful 5th gate.
