Does Disney even try to sell HOP merch? I mean, if they did, I’d certainly buy that.
Me too, but its not about merch, with merch, they got to design it, contract with China to make it, pay China, store it in a warehouse, then mark it up, stock it on a shelf and hope they sell it.

Same with food. A lot of work goes into food service with less profit margin.

Alcohol has better margins, this is why we see the lounges popping up.

The king is selling LLs which are vapor and costs them nothing to "stock" and sell LLs!!

Todays Walt Disney company does not care about Walt's vision, not for a long time.

All the changes that will be happening is because of MONEY.

TWDC wants all attractions to SELL THE MAXIMUM LLs AS POSSIBLE.

It is no longer about theme, emersion, beauty, atmosphere - ITS ONLY ABOUT MONEY!
One thing I will say is that Walt's vision was in the 50s and 60s. There have been a lot of technological and societal changes since then. If he was here today and had a vision for the parks it would look a lot different than his vision from 60 years ago.

We can totally delete my comment about Walt from my post -

Move MV3D here. That finale makes it a perfect thematic fit.
I was thinking about that the other day and how they could make it work. it wouldn't necessarily fit the land as-is but maybe if it was presented as a inventions expo or Beaker and Bunsen invented a time machine in the pre-show? ... still feels like a reach. IDK. Would be a smart retrofit.

I didn't have time to read the whole thing, but here is my prediction.... Two possibilities if it ever reopens it will be the old format that doesn't have the current President (no matter who that is) give a speech. With the current President speaking it becomes political without it, it is simply historical as it was originally intended to be. The second is also a real possibility and that is that it just will never open and eventually (probably not in my lifetime) became a completely different theme and storyline.

The first would be the easiest to sell, but with Disney's recent history the second is the most likely to happen. They don't feel any pressure to speed up the process or to even be concerned about a large property to just be vacant. There's almost as many of those "show" buildings empty now as actual operating attractions.

Whatever Disney decides to do, I think they are going to drag their feet and take a long time to reopen this since this is not a LL attraction; they cant make any MONEY from this attraction. I think merch no longer counts as there is cost related to merch and LL IS PURE PROFIT!!!

In my opinion, Disney eventually wants ONLY LL attractions

I find it hard to believe that WDW will change the format of HoP and that change hasn't leaked yet.

Anyone thinking that a big change is "likely" isn't reading the room.

I think, right now, I think it'll reopen, business as usual, probably without Trump speaking, or it'll be business as usual and he'll speak.
I think they will have to AI the speech, I can't see him recording it this time

Yeah it’s probably gonna stay the same. We all think it will but I think because of real world events, Disney honestly is stuck for a good long while with this ride. Might as well get comfortable with it.

The “nothing ever happens”-off that stitch, figment, and HoP are currently in will continue for a while.

I still think if the show was going away the facade and signs would have been covered up or removed by now and the closed for refurbishment sign would not state Hall of Presidents on it either. Its coming back in some form.

HoP wouldn't be the first attraction to disappear while undergoing "refurbishment"...
