And that's considered such a superior attraction to Dinosaur
Well I mean...it is. By a wide margin. Dinosaur is neat but I'd much rather have the scenery and effects that comes with Indy than the animatronics lack of actual scenery and effects that comes with Dinosaur. Just a few animatronics is fine. We don't need a ton for the ride to be fun and interesting. Indy is one of the top theme park attractions ever built and it's not got more than a few animatronics, but it makes up for it in really amazing sets and effects.

Kind of off topic, but I really wish they'd put something almost exactly like that still-standing billboard with the lattice at the base over on the opposite side of the train tracks in Storybook Circus near the TRON tunnel entrance to completely obscure the view of the show building while aboard the train and to at least partially distract from it elsewhere in the land. Just put another Great Goofini ad on it or something.

It would be SO easy to block that view, they really didn't even try

I absolutely do not understand the "reuse TriceraTop Spin" idea.

Setting aside that I'm pretty sure everything in Rama was second hand so who even knows how old the ride is at this point, when Dino-Rama opened it was a land made on a tight budget specifically to look cheap, and yet even in that cash-strapped scenario, they still made custom assets for the rides.

Now the company is supposed to be doing well and Toy Story brings in billions and billions of dollars, and people want them to REUSE the ride for that area? It's not worth something fully customized?

It'd be one thing if it fit, but Trixie does not look like the T-Spin triceratops (and I see zero reason why "kinda close" should be considered good enough) and the fact that they even are toys at all goes right the heck over people's heads. On this very forum people talk like them looking toy-like is a design flaw and not the goal. It would just confuse people.

(Let's not even discuss wasting TSL space on an unpopular character or the large pile of money I would have if I got a dollar for every "but why are triceratops flying?" comment I've heard.)

Surely the hope should be for them to make something unique that actually fits TSL instead of hoping they cheap out and make the land worse with an ill-fitting ride.

Why are people setting expectations for Toy Story Land lower than Dino-Rama?

I think it’s part of the “joke” that it’s a triceratops instead of a pterosaur. Still annoys me but that’s probably why.

It's a pun on the word "top"; tops spin, they're spinning. That's why the dinosaurs themselves were made to look like metal toys and there were tops on the sign. The official attraction name is TriceraTop Spin, not Triceratops Spin.

But most people don't get that.

Oh okay. You can count me in with the people who didn’t get it until now.

I think it's more that DHS is desperate for smaller filler rides without height requirements and Disney not wanting to spend money on those kinds of rides. If they were able to reuse TriceraTop Spin and theme it to Trixie, it'll be a reasonably cheap addition to fill that need. I don't think anybody was being serious when they suggested Triceratops in Toy Story Land, just pointing out something Disney might have done

A Hello Dolly-ispired WALL-E billboard would be good. With a BnL logo on it.
