To be clear I believe imagineering understands. the new cabins in Paris are proof of that it makes it more disappointing that they were told to build the ones they did here
The problem with the question “Does Imagineering get it” is that it starts with a false premise. Walt Disney Imagineering isn’t some small team where everyone works on pretty much everything. Fort Wilderness’s cabins look different not because there was some dictate, it is because completely different people were involved.

Correct. is there anywhere I can get an official list of every imagineer currently working for the company?

You should go listen to the Disney Dish where Jim Hill and @lentesta spend the last 40 episodes on the history of Fort Wilderness and supposedly this new resort though they just finished the last episode with Disneyland Paris. I assume it's coming full circle any week now.

It's the increasingly inaccurately-named seven part trilogy.

We took this week off to do an interview. So March 10 should be the last one.

The size of Walt Disney Imagineering fluctuates but is generally well north of 1,000 people. They also make use of independent contractors and vendors, who themselves can be some very large companies. There are also a variety of other stakeholders on any given project that are also going to impact outcomes. It’s a bit creepy because it’s a lot of personal information that doesn’t really tell you a lot.

That said, one of the requirements to receive a Thea Award is providing a credits list. Unfortunately these lists are not tightly controlled by various contracts like the credits for a movie, they’re based on the honor system and vendors will often just be listed by company, but they are something.

This may have been discussed already, but does anyone know the likely 50 year expiration for this resort?

Do you think they'll go off the original pre-pandemic date or when they restarted the project? Boardwalk for example, didn't open until 1996, but its expiration is set from 1992. If they went off the pre-pandemic, that would be like cutting it ten years short.

Firstly that depends on whether it’s added to the Cabins at FW resort or not. If that happens it’ll have the same date.

BWV is not a good precedent. It expires in 2042, which is when the very first DVC resort (OKW) expires. The first few resorts all had the same end date.

If it’s sold as a new condo association, it will be based on when it is registered as such. So around when sales begin.

First time at Wilderness Lodge for a dinner reservation at Artist Point the other day. The food was fantastic and the resort as a whole was very beautiful with great theming and details and everything.

We took the red flag boat from there to Magic Kingdom and grabbed these pics. First time too on the little boats (only ever took the ferry before). Neat transportation overall, gives some great views of the lagoon and surrounding areas.

Has anyone actually seen the cranes working? Seems all the photos are of them sleeping, maybe it's just for show and space people are dropping building parts in at night?

Not sure if this has been posted yet:
  • 964 keyed doors ("keys" to you CFTOB Comprehensive Plan readers out there)
  • 18 lakefront cabins. They look to be of 3 different configurations. I'm not sure if the larger ones are 3BR or 2BR.
  • 300-seat table-service restaurant
The pool area is huge and has a lot of features:

In addition to the large cabin types in the lower left, there are these in the upper right (different set of documents):

The bottom ones look like they might be connected 1BRs that split apart for porches? That's a guess.

Pool area looks fantastic. The three cabin configs remain consistent with old Reflections plans. Generally speaking they messed up the cabin to regular room mix on Poly and Copper Creek.

Not only are there less of these units than Cabins or Bungalows (though you could be right on lock offs), there are definitely more overall units to drown them out. Plus having three different types will likely drive a much stronger sense of scarcity than the bungalows or cabins have ever generated.

Generally speaking the lux villas aren’t a bad thing, they are points hogs and drive down everyone else’s fees. But they are bad when there are too many.

DVC has made many missteps with almost every build so far and I’m still waiting eagerly to find out what the mistake is here. I’m not seeing it clearly yet.

From a Fort Wilderness perspective, there are several mistakes happening here, The cabins in the upper right are being built on Clementine's Beach, which has been part of Fort Wilderness since the beginning. It looks like one of the Fort Wilderness playgrounds is being taken away as it has a "limit of construction" circle around it. The whole resort is too close for comfort to the Fort Wilderness Settlement complex. My fear is that the Settlement will be taken away from Fort Wilderness and given to this new resort. It seems that big chunks of the campground, which was part of Walt's plans for WDW, are being taken away and soon there will be nothing left for campers.

They are building it on top of an ancient burial ground.......
