90 day booking window for dining, tours and reservations to become standard

My biggest disappointment is My trip will seem longer to arrive. I was looking forward to March for my Sept trip

Well, this help those that wait for the free dining announcement. It was announced around the 90 day mark last year and I had trouble getting ADR for many places. That was becase the bounceback people had a 90 day head start.

In 2009, I will be one of those bouncback people and was looking forward to a head start for those other free dining people

Well, I'll just had my ADR request to Eliz from KK our wonderful sponsor to handle the phone crowd in July :ROFLOL:.

Is the Grand Gathering Pirates Cruise 180 days or 90 days out for booking? I thought it was 180, but recently was told 90. Thanks!

good move

not surprising one considering how in flux our economy is (putting it nicely)

a friend today called and booked Rose and Crown for dinner in two weeks, so clearly things are more open than in the past

Officially:

With the growing pattern of Guests booking their dining, recreation and tour experiences closer to their travel dates as they finalize their vacation itineraries, we will be adjusting the booking window for those experiences to a 90-day period, effective December 23, 2008.

Disney Resort Hotel Guests may book 90 days prior to their scheduled check-in date for the first 10 days of their stay. Day Guests may book 90 days prior to the date they wish to dine.

Due to the unique components and special nuances of Grand Gathering experiences and La Nouba performances, reservations for these offerings can be made up to 180 days in advance.

All existing reservations will be honored as booked.

Note: A new start date for our updated Dining Reservation System or for Online Dine Bookings has not been officially announced as of yet.

Un-officially:

Never double our glorious Webmaster! :sohappy:

Thanks as always JP and Steve!!!!!!! Belle

:sohappy::sohappy::sohappy: Kudos to Disney on this one. 180 days can be a pain in the if park hours haven't been released yet.

Would you?! Totally kidding... I would.
This is good news, now they just need a penalty for having multiple reservations at the same time and either not canceling or canceling last minute.

I called last week for a reservation on any night at any time for Le Cellier in February and couldn't get one

Keep trying when we made ADRs for last Sept DH could not get it. He kept on calling and got Le Cellier a week before we left.

I think it's great news - 180 days was absolutely ridiculous. I mean, I have no idea if I'll even be on a vacation 180 days from now, much less where I might want to eat on said maybe vacation! :ROFLOL:

I already know my next two WDW vacations, Valentine's Weekend solo trip and end August '09! I've already worked out which parks I expect to be in on which days and could book every ADR for August right now [I know where and what times I want already].

In all my trips, I've only ever changed ADRs once and that was because they cancelled one due to a P&PP party - I scheduled something else early enough so I could attend the P&PP and later found out I could have re-booked the exact same ADR they had cancelled by telling them I'd be attending the party!

I kinda liked the 180-day reservation window, but I'm not upset that they're reducing it.

Unfortunately, this doesn't mean that Disney will release park hours in a more timely fashion. I can recall pre-October 2005 when we had a 90 day window and I was still waiting on park hours to be released!

BTW, I received an official FAQ from my WDTC contact on this, unfortunately, it seems no one has told all of the dining CM's yet - my agents have received very mixed results in trying to make ADR's past 3/22/09. Some CM's allowed it, most said it was still not allowed.

I think this may be a good chance for a "training opportunity" ?

Well, while we're on a hot dining thread...

I called for an ADR for Yack & Yetti. I was told that the dining plan just may not be valid for 2009 at that location. Any word on the membership of Y&Y to the plan?

:sohappy: Finally, a change I warmly welcome. I rarely can plan to be in WDW more than 120 days out, so I missed the prime availability every time. This will help me....perhaps I can get into Chef Mickey's, Ohana, or Le Cellier.

Yak & Yeti has officially been included in the 2009 Dining Plan Packages!

Does the 90 day booking window include Chef Mickey's, CRT, and V&A?

Yes! They are still currently booking until 6/19/09 until it reaches the 90 day window!

Wow, you're extremely lucky to have such flexibility - unfortunately for me I am not that blessed.

What has worked in my favor is that since I'm not a fan of most of the TS eateries I don't have to sweat it about ADRs - I just skip them anyway. It's nice to know that if I do decide I'd like to dine at one of them I'll have a shot at it though :)
