Is it difficult for anyone else to get into the "Christmas Spirit" at WDW or Florida in general when it's almost or above 80 degrees outside?! Bums me out a little... :-(

I moved down here eleven years ago to get out of the cold. I love being able to call my friends and fsmily on Christmas and tell them: "I'm celebrating Christmas at the beach" or "I'm celebrating Christmas at Disney!"

This makes me laugh. I just sent a picture to my daughter from the beach this morning. We have been discussing why she should move here and join us and her 3 siblings.

This is part of why we moved here in February. We live 77 miles due east of WDW and are only 300 yards from the ocean. I cannot take cold any longer. We came from the Pacific Northwest most recently. Its currently 40 degrees there. We were there for 10 years. We were in Hawaii for 13 before that. I am originally from the Midwest. I have seen all seasons.

That under 60 at night is quite chilly. We have 2 quilts on the beds. I refuse to turn the heat on though.

FYI my house is very nicely decorated and we spend hours watching movies/listening to music/ baking to enhance the spirit. Weather does not make it. It is how you embrace it.

I hear ya. 99.9% of the time I'd rather be in warm weather over cold weather. But when it comes to CHRISTMAS, cold weather is required for accurate theming :p.

No issue here, born and raised in Florida. I like to visit snow, but not for very long. The Christmas spirit flows through my house, uninterrupted by the lack of cold white crap outside my door. In fact, we already have our tree up and ready to go.

I enjoy my Christmas day in flip flops with my shades on!! We might even take a trip to MK this year.

Still better than the 47 degrees I have right now. And it isn't going to be snowing in WDW like it is here. Sigh, I could really use some WDW weather right now.

First of all, none of those temps are 80 degrees. Temps are running in the 60s and 70s. It isn't hot right now in any way, shape or form. It's mostly chilly to warm.

I prefer 65 to 25, though. That is the #1 reason I chose to relocate. I was dreaming of a green Christmas.

It is a little weird to have no snow surrounding Christmas, but the thing that is weirder, for me anyway, is to have no leaves changing colors and raining down in the fall. January with no snow is just heaven.

Last night we were sitting watching a Christmas parade in the town where I was born. It was tons of fun, but with temps in the low 30's, after the first hour or so, it was pretty uncomfortably cold. In 2 weeks we'll be watching a much warmer parade in Lake Buena Vista!

Wimps. Try the evening Christmas Holidazzle parade in Minneapolis. Especially when it's in the 20s with a foot of snow on the ground. I'd actually rather do that than the damp 40s here on the Left coast.

So yeah, I'd pretty much kill for an 80 degree degree day about right now.

Wow, can't believe I'm in the minority here! I moved to Florida from Michigan almost 3 years ago and I HATE celebrating christmas with shorts on. Absolutely hate it. I'll take 3 feet of snow and 20 degrees over the beach for christmas every year...and almost any day of the year for that matter! Can't wait to move back, although that means being a non-local sadly.
