7dmt vs thunder mountain

Haven't road 7dmt yet won't be in WDW till thanksgiving but i really like BTM. Heard people talk about 7dmt just have to wait till November and make up my mind. Grandkids can't wait to ride hope they are not disappointed.

Big Thunder is still leagues better - longer, more intense (which says a lot since it isn't very intense), still top notch theming and immersion.
Though 7DMT is fine for what it is.

I think that in terms of the worth of waiting in line, BTMR supplies a better value, however 7DMT seems to me much better decorated and overall more.."fun". Not to say the other isn't fun, though

BTMR- ride it at night and I feel there is more theming since the various buildings light up and the ride is longer and more of a thrill ride.
The New 7DMT shouldn't be compared to BTMR, the only item they have in common is "train"in their name. I enjoyed the 7DMT when we were there in early June, but it should not be in the same category as BTMR.

I rode 7DMT and I'll say is it was good for the one time only. For me it was not a do over and over again ride.

This. I don't see why it needs to be an "either or" kinda thing... they're just not similar enough to compare IMO.
I agree with this 100%. About the only way I can see myself riding it again is if I have more than one day planned at the MK on a future trip and have already booked FP's for my favorites. Of course, by the time I get to go back, 7dmt may not have the long wait times it has now, as the newness will have worn off long ago by that point (I'm thinking it'll probably be at least five years before we get to go back).

About the hulk, when I rode it for the first time I hadn't seen the track or the launch. So when you go cannonballing out of the big tube, holy smokes! It still doesn't compare to the almost anxiety producing launch of RnRC, but it was fun!

After riding BTMR with my wife in 2009, 2011, and 2012, we FINALLY decided that in 2013 we would try it at night and we loved it. Love seeing the people in the windows and the overall feel to it.
