My 1998 map says it was open plus I rode it in October 1998. Anyways I think it closed in 1999, early on. But still good tribute post. Let's all have a moment of silence like Number 6 said.

I made a trip up to the Magic Kingdom to ride it on it's last day. Step out to your left please, when the car stops please step out to your left....

Or your right but hey I'm not going to tell you which side to ride.

That can't be!! it is ON my October 1998 map, which I could scan for proof. I believe it closed November 1998, a year or so before the Skyway

oh and coasterbuzz.com is not really good. They are often wrong :-(

They should just put Mr. Toad back into the park. Stick it where 20K is. Then, everyone will be happy with the toad's return. :)

The rebuilding of Mr. Toad would cause much less press than the closing did. It will never be back, let's move on.

I liked Mr. Toad but Speck has said it all. No, it won't be back. They will never bring back anything that they removed. Sorry, not even my beloved 20k leagues.

I too was there and rode it on the last operating day (9/7/98). So sad... I still miss it.

And from the Cast Portal regarding the offical date:

September 8, 1998

Mr. Toad's Wild Ride closes permanently as a Fantasyland attraction in the MAGIC KINGDOM®Park at the WALT DISNEY WORLD®Resort. It was replaced by "The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh" which opened on June 5, 1999.

If you really want to relive this ride, just drive in Atlanta traffic while it's raining and you'd swear the ride never went away.

Although my wife loves the Pooh ride, I always think of Toad when I'm on it......

Toad will live in my heart forever. That was/is one of my favorite rides. when I was little I always thought I was driving the car. We would do that ride over and over! I can still picture standing in line at dark to ride toad. I love you Toad!
