5th gate question?

Disney Does not want you to leave property to go the Sea World or Busch Gardens or any other place outside of WDW property. That is the whole purpose of Magical express. So, between spending money on food at the park as you mentioned, as well as souvenirs, waters, adult beverages, etc. I believe that Disney would prefer to extend peoples trips, and/ or keep people on property. That $100 that you sent on the sea world ticket would probably find its way into Disneys Pocket
But not at the cost of billions in capex and infrastructure and permanent tens of millions annually guaranteed on labor and overhead for a 5th gate.

They have easier ways do take our money

How?
The UK 14 day tickets are fixed cost no matter if I go to the parks on 10 of those days or 14 of them, I expect the ticket price to jump in cost if they open a 5th park anyway, but Disney still get the same amount of money if I do or don't go to SeaWorld, except for that $20 lunch.

For the USA guests on shorter trips it is a different question as people will only buy the number of days they need, but the difference between a 5 day ticket and and six day ticket isn't much at all.

I hate to the bearer of bad news: but that ticket will go away unless you guys keep chugging along or increase numbers of visitors. Tough to do in today’s world.

Any decline in revenue in that program and they guillotine it ASAP.

I don't think WDW will add another gate for at least 20 years.

I would like to see the next 5-7 years of improvement first and then another 5 years of numbers to see how insane the parks become. I would also love to see indiana jones incorporated into animal kingdom, It's a perfect fit in dino land.

I don't see it going that easily, for reason that if it is the same price no matter if I spend 7, 10 or 14 days at Disney it makes me less likely to go to SeaWorld/Busch. If I can get a 10 day ticket cheaper than a 14 day ticket then I will get the shorter Disney ticket and do SeaWorld with the money I've saved.

What I'm saying is its not just about the ticket cost, Its also about all of the spending that people do in a park through the day. You may only spend $20 on lunch in a whole day, but many others spend a lot more. I believe Disney makes just as much on "In-park" spending as they do on multi day tickets. Im hearing most people are budgeting $60 per person per day for just meals. Add to that waters, other snacks, souvenirs, and any other incidentals and it can easily match the per day ticket cost on a multi day ticket.

This is true...the Profits aren’t made on the tickets and room...that’s the “gateway drug”

If the announced it at D23 this year. And lets say they were ready to bulldoze and start tomorrow (which we know wouldn't happen) how quickly could they build a 5th gate in todays world (more restrictions, worker safety, more elaborate rides) I know Disneyland took 1 year but that's impossible today. How long did it take animal kingdom from announcement to opening?

Development time when they actually had the pride to rush was 5 or so years...DAK was 6ish shortened by 6 months - year if memory serves

I don't think souveneer spending is that incremental though. If you spend one day at each park, a second day at a park won't double the number of souvenirs bought.
I agree that the food per day is probably around $60, but if someone staying onsite goes off to another park, they may still have their evening meal back at the Disney hotel, or at least on property.

They already don't know what to do with the enormous footprint of Epcot. Very unlikely to add another gate.
And they couldn’t figure out to expand the footprint at studios

Stick to minilands
I don’t trust WDI or twdc in its current form to build a semi coherent park
