I like the ideas of adding/expanding Pixar Place into a land as well as an expanded Lucas are. Dust and clean GMR; a good refresh. I also think they should do an animated version of the GMR where Mickey is the star of the show. Mickey needs his own attraction.

If this is true, and they really are considering a GMR refresh along with this, why not just do all Disney movies, which now could include Pixar, LucasFilm, and maybe even some of the Marvel movies, depending on how they did them. Although, I think the Marvel characters and their images are restricted from appearing in WDW due to Uni's contract. Still though, even without Marvel, they would have a pretty impressive roster of films to pick from, without having to go out of house. Heck, they might could even get Cameron to agree to them use his films as well.
Okay, I've tried restraining myself from using the M word, but...

What do James Cameron and Marvel have in common?

Cameron wrote the first draft of the screenplay for the first Spider-Man movie!

Spider-Man is a Marvel character. Marvel is now owned by Disney. Cameron is collaborating with Disney on Avatar for (of all places) WDW in Florida. Disney can't build Marvel properties in Florida, but Cameron once wrote a screenplay about a Marvel character. Coincidence? No. Conspiracy? Hmmm

Get over Marvel; there's too much money at stake for that contract not to continue with Universal. They have an entire Marvel Themed Land and Disney will just leverage that for a better deal when the contract comes up for renewal.

They already make money off of rides they didnt have to build. Deal with it, get over it and realize that in this case its a 'win-win' for everyone because everyone gets PAID.

If I were TDO I would spend the 500 Million in this priority...
1. Remove the BAH
2. Fix current mechanical/cleanliness problems
3. Refurb current attractions before starting new ones.
4. E or D ticket if any more $$$ is available, doubtful

Gosh, that was a joke!

I just wish there was some way to move the buildings so that there was more walking room, come summer/Christmas MGM is worse than any of the other three as far as difficulty fighting through crowds is concerned. A sad legacy of the park's odd creation and one that will probably never go away, I suppose. Still, ripping out that chunk of the west end of the park everyone is thinking about would do a little to help.

People here should know by now when I'm joking. I have a very dry sense of humor. I sound serious but I'm not. The very serious tone I use for very ridiculous things is what's so funny!

Sorry, there are too many people on this site who don't understand the deal. You need to write in that "I'm being an ironic hipster" font. Call in PBR font?
I shouldn't have to spell out that its a joke or it won't be funny. I just try to make it so ridiculous that its obvious. If people still take it seriously, then I wasn't being obviously ridiculous enough.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.

Have to disagree with you here. DHS needs MORE rides and attractions first, as there is simply not enough to do.
1. Moving the BAH should be fairly cheap. Even cheaper if they are just going to demo it.
2. What needs fixing? Cleaning is cheap and fairly easy. DHS does not get the traffic that MK does, and its hours are generally shorter.
3. What needs a refurb? Fantasmic! perhaps, but some of us are hoping for a whole new show. BatB and VotLM are already slated to be rethemed, according to reliable sources.
4. Build. Build. And then, build some more. We need an E, a D, and some C's and B's. Heck, even a spinner would be welcome here.

If $500mil is all they get then removing the BAH would the be the last thing I'd have in the list to do and use the money more wisely. Removing that hat isn't going to draw more people into that park

Overall this sounds like a compilation of rumours and figures from elsewhere. Yes, something is in the works park-wide and in specific areas. It's what exactly that's still up in the air, and has been for 4-5 years. Management know DHS needs a lot of help, as a park as a whole and with appeal for specific attractions. Carsland, Carsland and RSR, RSR only, Star Wars theming, various MI Coasters, yes even the Indy EMV have been banded about. But so far as I know it is still a work in progress. 500 mil could get an awful lot. It just depends who does it.

The park however does have more space available than it seems.
