I haven't read this thread word for word, but was there anything for the 30th or 35th special? The only other anniversary anyone talks about it the 25th cake castle. With that said, how surprised can we be that there isn't much for the 40th ya know?

IMO, the reason they celebrated Disneylands 40th, 45th, ect was cuz its the oldest theme park.

I'm glad we're getting anything. I think the 40th is really only a big deal to the fan community. I live in FL and have seen nothing; no commercials, billboards, ads, nothing, to deal with the 40th. I would bet that on Oct. 1st there are more people in MK that have no clue it's the 40th anniversary than who do. I was just there last weekend, and aside from the merch (which doesn't have the specific date, just 1971) there are no indications of an anniversary at all.

Still believing it's more for the fans than not, if I were in charge I would have said forget it. As a community all we do is complain! Nothing Disney does is ever good enough for us as a whole, so why even try.

I do think 40 is a pretty big achievement. Maybe not quite as monumental as 25 and definitely not as big as 50, but still worth noting and celebrating.

For all the people complaining it's not enough, what did you expect? That's an honest question, not trying to be rude.

I was thinking that if I were in charge I'd shut the parks for a week and have a big party for all the CM's.

I was a CM 3 years ago so I would have been thrilled with that :sohappy:

Maybe they do just need to do something crazy, spice things up for a bit. Maybe that would make people shut up. Probably not :brick:
