4 Walt Disney World Resorts to accept dogs

Some people can't dspose of dirty diapers in the trash cans in the WDW parks. There will be some that don't pick up after their dogs and some who pick up after teir dogs and as

Prime example of how some people don't give a s____ about anything. I think WDW is in for a rude awaking. New WDW job discription: Dog Sanitation Engineer--- quaiifications -- CM must beable to sniff out problems and make a clean sweep of the area
Exactly this. Humans are dumb and selfish.

I sure hope all those little baggies are biodegradable. If not, some archaeologist is in for quite the find in a few hundred years...

I seriously doubt that doggie poo bags are going to be the least of our worries of what remains behind...

Although there is the chance that bags of dog poo become the new currency in the post apocalyptic wasteland...

We get the same thing here. Tourist town in New England, lots of lakes, ponds and beaches. The one park has a dirt road and beaches all around the perimeter of a lake. Nice, tree-covered park areas with shade and picnic tables within feet of the sandy beach. Well, some jerk decided it would be a good idea to advertise the park in a less-preferred area of the state several towns away...

I found a dirty diaper jammed into a hole in a tree. People were parking in locals' yards and blocking their driveways so they could avoid paying for parking, people were urinating and *other* things in locals' yards...it was BAD.

Not trying to steal your thunder but sadly the diaper issue happens here at WDW parking lots as well. Really disgusting, people just leave them behind. And a CM has to take care of it one way or another. Sometimes they get run over. ( the diaper, that is)

Last visit to WDW (May) saw several dirty diapers left out rather than placed in near trash cans. It is truely a shame some gusets have absolutely no consideration for fellow guests, no manners, it's all about me attitude, I payed my money so I am intitled to do what I want, the CM are payed to cleanup after me. I wish there was an answer, in my 68 years I have seen the level of civility decline and sorry to say IMO it will continue to decline. Please prove me wrong

Do you typically find yourself tripping and slipping on dog crap at home when going for a walk?
These hypotheticals are getting ridiculous.
I do have to be careful when crossing the grass strip between the sidewalk and road (to get to my parked car) because some dog owners do not pick up after their dogs. I have been "surprised" more than once, especially at night. If I were walking quickly I could very well slip and fall.

So I guess the answer is "yes." My neighborhood is the same way. I don't have a dog, but I have to do pre-grasscutting reconnaissance to see if there are any surprises along the roadway.

That's why God gave us police departments and towing companies.

It took virtually the entire town becoming irate and turning to social media for the police to finally do something about it. That was last summer. It's MUCH better this year, but there is still the occasional person who leaves piles of trash, etc. NOTHING even close to last year, though.

hypothetical? buahaha.. guess you've never lived in a community. People failing to curb their dog on community sidewalks and in other people's yards is pretty much the top complaint in HOA communities (I say HOA, because then they have someone to complain to.. who tell them its not their job anyways).

Pet waste should be included in the bylaws of an HOA. If not, then I would check local laws. Where we used to live, leaving pet waste was up to a $500 fine.

For our HOA, it is their business as it is against the rules and fines apply. It is also against city ordinances and can subject the dog owner to fines and removal of the pet from the premises. However, when we had a negligent dog owner next door whose pooch did his business in our yard and on our sidewalk, leaving it for us to see and smell for weeks and weeks, we were responsible for detective-like sleuthing. First, we supplied photos of the 30 something piles of excrement in front of our porch. That was not enough. Finally, we provided video of the offending pet and owner in the act. All was cleaned up within a week. She continued to pick up after the dog for a few weeks. Then, the dog disappeared, the neighbor put their home up for sale and they were gone in a few months. New owner has a cat.

Generally it's not a HOA thing for that very reason. If it's already a city or county ordinance, the HOA doesn't need to try to enforce it, and can just point to the local laws.. and their enforcement. Because the HOA can't enforce local laws, and no point in getting mixed up with it. Same thing normally applies to noise ordinances. issues WITHIN a shared space, of course may have their own extra rules.

My car was towed.. while I was out of the country.. for having a flat tire, which I obviously didn’t realize. Because a flat tire for more than 24 hours is against the rules.

I guess it depends on the community, but an HOA should definitely enforce their rules. I would be angry if they didn’t.. even if I am still a bit angry over my towing/storage bill. ;)

OMG...I would be too!!! What if you don't drive every day and just didn't notice?!? I think that's just way beyond ridiculous and I'd be mad for a loooong time.

Oh trust me, I was livid. I tried to get them to pay my bill, or at least half of it. I had the tow and 6 days storage. Livid is probably an understatement.. especially when I came home and first thought that my car was stolen. Not a scenario you want to deal with after arriving back from a vacay.

Just curious, why wouldn't the owner have control of the dog if he'd "seen something"? Most dog responsible dog owners don't take their dogs out for walks unless they are confident they can control them in all situations. Most dogs who are walked regularly are pretty used to seeing new things and don't try to run away when they're on leash. Now I'm not saying that there aren't dog owners out there who have dogs who aren't trained to walk on leash who would try to run off, but that I don't tend to see those types of dogs out and about when I'm walking my dog.

I see and have seen far more dogs being walked, where the owner had little control then I see and have seen owners walking dogs that are under control.
In most cases, the dog is walking the owner.

And there was just someone on another thread whose friend is staying at POR...there is already a dog in a building that wasn't supposed to have them. (And it was toileting right outside the person's room...probably not where it was supposed to.)

The only solution to this I see is WDW dedicates a building/preferable a resort strictly for dogs and their owners. If people were considerate and followed the rules the current program would work--- let's face facts some people aren't considerate. Heck, most times people can't even read signs or they think the signs don't apply to them. WDW you have created a real mess ---a dog mess
