As far as the song is concerned, "Tomorrow's Child" best summarizes the original purpose of Epcot, and I can understand why Siemens reps would want the song back in the park's flagship icon/attraction: the song would link their company to technological dreams and the "future world [that's] born today." In other words, the song wouldn't be revived for "philanthropy" or to "bring Epcot back to the glory days"; it would come back to blatantly remind us that Siemens makes the technology for the future! If the song does return (and there's no guarantee that it will), I hope that they re-record it. The original version is nice for nostalgia, but the vocals sound like a bad, cheesy, late-70s, let's-all-hold-hands-and-hope-for-a-better-world anthem. (And some of the lead vocal's notes are nearly flat!)<!-- / message -->
EDIT: SSE only stops for handicapped entry. Nothing is wrong with the ride system; the cars just need new shocks!
Wow. It would be quite cool if part of the sponsorship and focus on SEE was really due to the fact that one of the high ups was a Disney fan. That would be GOOD STUFF. :sohappy: I agree the message of Tomorrow's Child still fits... It should ALWAYS fit with Epcot... And maybe a re-record as you mentioned would give it the spin that would make it sound more current. Every time I hear that song, I picture a 70's blonde with feathered hair... Some kind of white jumpsuit... A big microphone... Ahhh, the good old days.:lookaroun :hammer:
The good thing is that I'd imagine whatever changes might be made will probably be made sooner rather than later.
A bus driver told me they're about ready to start construction on the coaster that's going to run straight through it. :lookaroun
