I always loved the rumor of keeping more or less the same theme, but making a Powerline concert. They could tie it into a new Toon Studios area that connects to Animation Courtyard as a new version of Toon Town, but as more of an actual land instead of a dead end kiddie area (as much as I adore it even as a dead end kiddie area).

I also wouldn't mind seeing it actually have a movie studio theme. Maybe retheme it as stunt driver filming a car chase and we're extras riding along. something like that.

I feel like no matter what band you choose, musically the ride will get dated. And we can't have a choose a song ride because of universal. This is why I feel like instead of a music based ride, it's another theme, and what's a more thrilling theme than

ALIENS.

Alien Encounter (unrelated) will have guests on the abandoned set of the first Alien movie, things go horribly wrong when a real alien goes on the set!

For more kid friendly, wreck it ralph coaster. Have the rollercoaster represent either portals to other video game worlds or internet ones. Fun!

This is the only correct response!

I would covert it to a VR coaster

They wouldn't be losing much vision wise since its in the dark and 60 mph with cutouts.

I'd keep it teen friendly too given the height requirement so Guardians really was the best option. But if not that then perhaps Disney does what they used to do best and make up their own story rather than divert to IP

Today (I think) is Haunted Mansion rewrite.

Me personally, I like that the movie is a comedy since the ride is, but the big changes I would make are
1. Make the bride the villain since she is in the ride. She can still have a tragic backstory, but still keep her evil.
2. Make the ghost host a major character. I don't think master gracy is the ghost host, so the movie did not even have him. Which is strange since he is the tour guide after all. The ghost host doesn't need to fill in the tour guide role in this movie, just be a major part of the story in some way.
3. Have the main character be the scared groundskeeper. Have him be the new employee finding out that all the playground rumors of the graveyard are true.

I have a bit of a different idea, which fits more in line with the narrative established on the ride.

Set the story from the ghost’s perspectives. The Ghost Host, former owner of the mansion, is desperate for more visitors because the International Society of Haunts only reviews applicants of a 1000 ghosts or more. So the ghosts proceed to scare as many people as possible, but repeatedly fail to bring in new guests.

Imagine the cameos and in-jokes you could do with that too. It'd be wonderful.

Well, it is going to be very similar to the American Adventure, so to be honest, I'm not sure how well it would fit in Epcot unless the American Adventure was out of the picture. But you could hypothetically take creative license and change up the idea enough to make them coexist. Or turn it into a ride in the vein of Spaceship Earth or Horizons. We won't be getting a show description though for a looooong time. Soarin' and Meet the World will probably be two of the last things I tackle.

I'm confident that the ride system for my version of Small World will work well and be different enough to warrant itself as a unique attraction. I'm also leaning more toward the style of Disneyland Paris where there is no transition between the rooms, everything is all under one roof with seamless transitions. No black walls or abrupt warehouse ceilings.

Small World will most likely be located in the Central Plaza, neighbored on the opposite side by Sinbad's Storybook Voyage.
Today is new water park day!
Let's see, blizzard beach is ice themed, typhoon lagoon is beach themed, therefore we need something that is classier than both.

What's better than Santorini

Imagine sliding off one of these!
I think something like this linked to the city of Atlantis could work really well!

If we are going with a IP based waterpark, I would pick a Moana park since the movie is mostly set in or around the water and Finding Nemo and Little Mermaid have already been more then covered with attractions. Could have diving with Tamatoa the Shiny Crab, Giant water slides for Te Ka and Te Fiti, Maui lazy river, etc...

I prefer non-IP ideas and think something involving the Bermuda Triangle, Submarines, Octopus' (Octopi? Octopuses? Octoply?) or even Homer's Odyssey theme would be cool.

If this is for WDW, realistically this should be pretty hard though with Volcano Bay at Uni

Super happy to see that this thread is still going strong even with me being gone a few days.

Anyways, I'm drunk. So, let's have some Pi thoughts on the last few days.

Haunted Mansion movie: I personally think the Haunted Mansion doesn't lend itself well to a movie. An animated miniseries with dark, yet comedic tone would work best. something like Over the Garden Wall. It allows you to tell a simple larger story while also telling a series of small stories. I had some ideas for the haunted mansion as a cartton mini series. But I'm gonna take out the disney stuff and use that story for a point and click video game. So, after I make Dan Quest (the practice game I'm making based on Game Grumps), I'm gonna make me Ghost game. Fingers crossed at least.

Water Park: I love the Atlantis idea. Larger than life architecture and Greek myth (non Herculese) would be amazing and I'd love it. Great idea. My idea would be to essentially do Neverland as a water park allowing you to do Fantasy type things while still keeping it relatively cheap as a tropuical setting.

World Showcase Dark Ride: Mulan would be sick, but I persoannly prefer World Showcase to be kept either timeless or modern day. That's my main problem with Frozen in World Showcase. Not the fantasy or IP or fairytale elements. The IP takes place in a completely different time period than the pavilion itself. That's also why I think Rattatouie fits great. It blends pretty seemlessly into the pavilion based on what I've seen. I'd love to see a dark ride in Canada based mostly on its location in the loop. But I dont' have a real idea for it. Maybe an Itally gondola ride done IP free based on sorta like Maelstrom. Or a Grimm Fairytale ride in Germany. Do it with a real stylistic approach. Like as if all the animatronics and shir are just puppets. I just realizes I accidentally typed shir instead of a word i shouldn't say with the same first thre letters. whoops lol. ?Got lucky. I'm gonna not do any more drunk imagineering.

Rafikis Planet Watch: Just move the animal hospitals to the front of the park bvetween the enrance and pandora. Use that land for South America. Or, better yet, Australia. Give me australia!! Or beastly kingdom. Or a toontown type area based on Zootopia. But I'd rather no zootopia persoanlly

Rafiki's Planet Watch

Hmm this is a hard one, but I think I know what to do.
You see, to me the name planet watch is kind of misleading. When I think of planet watching, I think of one of two things
1. something like soarin'
2. recycling
However, as far as I am aware, these are hospitals.
That's why I think it should be renamed to
Minnie's animal care.

Ok not really an update in the traditional sense but still counts right.
