Trip Report 30 Disney First's to Celebrate my 30th Birthday! January '13 Trip Report.

Hellooooo Humans! Welcome to my 30th birthday trip report. On this trip it was myself, my mom, my nanny and my best friend joined in for a few days! He will be making his first appearance in my trip reports.

A little preview of my birthday photo shoot!

And some MGM, I mean Hollywood Studios love!

Funny story goes with this picture when we get to that day!

We stayed at Pop Century from January 13th-20th. We had a preferred pool view, because my nanny said that she needed a good view. Not that she spent much time taking advantage of the view. LOL.

We had free dining, but also had quite a few meals that we paid for out of pocket using my Tables in Wonderland card. We had 12 meals booked in total. I was using my Annual Pass again, so was my mom. My nanny used our tickets from the free dining package.

We pre-purchased the PhotoPass+. Overall I enjoyed it. I loved having my pictures from the meals and Buzz Lightyear.

Over the course of the trip, we noticed that there were a lot of firsts happening. Thus, the title of this here trip report! I will try to remember to highlight each first in pink. Maybe ya'll can help me count along. We may even reach more than 30!

We left my house at some ungodly hour to pick up my nanny. We hit some fog on the way, which slowed us down a bit, but we made up the time later. After picking up my nanny, we started the loooong drive to Disney!
Our first stop was at the Alabama welcome center, I had to visit my missile! He was very happy to see me again!

I also had to say hello to the Alabama prison!

Soon enough we made our way to the Florida welcome center. Where I made my mom and nanny pose in the orange sign.

Flamingos!

Back on the road again, we soon passed the blue angels on the overpass.

We decided to have dinner, instead of breakfast, at Cracker Barrell. Yumm-o!

This would be the first few firsts of the trip. It was my first time actually driving onto property, our first time driving onto property at night and the first time driving straight through with no room for the night.

Our plan was to drive the majority of the way the first night and spend the night somewhere. That plan did not work out very well. We decided to drive straight through. Unfortunately, there was no room available at Pop Century, so we stayed at a local hotel near Old Town. It was a nice hotel, good price, good (free) breakfast the next morning, but it still wasn't Disney!

When we drove in (again) the next morning, the marathon was going on. It was quite interesting to see all these people running the streets.

Finally, time to check in at Pop!

Bringing my best friend some chocolate covered cherries! He was so excited!

After checking in, we made our way to DTD. I made my mom and nanny pose again!

I love this little photo op!

We did a little shopping.

A little trying on of ear hats!

And a little more shopping.

Lunch was supposed to be at Earl's but the line was way to long. So, instead we tried another first. Wolfgang Puck Express! The food was delicious. The pizza was divine! Hope to make it back here soon.

Back to Pop, to drop off our purchases and then we headed out to Magic Kingdom. This would be the first time the three of us would be heading to a park on the first day.

All three of us stopped at Harmony Barber shop on Main Street, once we made it Magic Kingdom. A few before pictures.

And now an after picture.

My happy place.

We hung around Main Street for awhile before heading off to our first ADR.

Balloons!

Sunset from the Monorail.

Dinner tonight was at 1900 Park Fare. This was also the first time we had an ADR on our arrival day/night. I don't really count yesterday, since we weren't planning on arriving till today anyway.

Dinner at 1900 Park Fare was not my favorite. The characters were great, the food not so much. I only wish that the step sisters would have been there for dinner. It was the Fairy Godmother instead. She was nice, but we were really going so my nanny could see the step sisters, she loves them.

Prince Charming was first.

Cinderella was next.

Then the Fairy Godmother.

And finally, the Evil StepMother. She was quite funny, talking with my mom and nanny about kids. Wanting to know if I had found a rich prince to marry yet. She wouldn't let up about me finding a prince.

The pasta and pizza off the kids menu were my favorites.

They brought us three celebration cupcakes.

The chocolate mousse, in the front, was the best dish tonight. Wish I could have a few more right now!

After dinner we headed back to Magic Kingdom. When we walked in, Celebrate the Magic was playing. I didn't want to see it unless I saw it from the beginning, so I hid underneath the train station until it was over.

We watched Wishes from about halfway down Main Street.

How awesome that you all got your hair done at the Barber Shop!

Hopefully this one won't take me as long to finish! That was the 3rd time I have gotten my haircut at the Barber Shop. I love it!

I still think I will be one of the last girls to post my report. LOL.

It is a very cute place and very very fun!

We were disappointed that the step sisters weren't there, but we were still pleased with the other characters. The food on the other hand was not that great.

He has been working there for about 5 years now. He works in the gift shop and does package pick up!

Great start!!! Excited to read more.

Thanks!

I love that you all had your hair cut at the barber shop. I had mine cut there last year I believe. And I also had them add the confetti and pink tint to the top. I loved it. Although, at times I had the confetti all over the place .

Nothing beats having your hair cut at 'Disney's Barber Shop!'

YAY!!! So glad you started this!!!

I see in your castle pictures that Dream Along was going on. Now, you know how that makes me cry! I teared up just seeing it in your pics! Can I just say, when we were leaving MK for the last time after the girls cruise, we stopped in some stores on the way out and the Confectionary was our last stop. I got my cookies, walked outside and stopped on the sidewalk only to hear Mickey say "You've always been a Princess to me!" AS IF it weren't sad enough I was leaving to go home, I had to step outside and hear THAT?! What are the odds I would walk out while Mickey was saying THE ONE THING in that show that makes me cry?! Yeah.. I pretty much lost it after that. I was a mess!!

1900 and no step-sisters?! What's up with that?!? The step-mother though, she was the one we had in May at the parks who was trying to pawn my cousin off on one of the daughters. She rode with us on the carousel. It was pretty cool and she was hilarious!

Where does your friend work at Pop? I will be there one night in November. I'll look for him!! :)
