Trip Report 3 Kids, 3 Birthdays, 3 Resorts what could go wrong?!?!

I have been checking the vacation countdown daily and it feels like the right time to start this pre-trip report.

The who? We are missing a few faces this trip. It will be these three kiddos Nene (10), Bear (10) and Handsome (8).

And me!

We are going to be missing Jet and Hubby this trip but they will be living their best soccer loving lives. They will be watching soccer and visiting training camps in England. I'm not sure who will be having more fun.

What? In typical Spring break fashion we will be celebrating my birthday as well as Nene and Bears.

Where? This gets complicated. The trip started as three days at AKL in a Savannah view studio we bought through David's Vacation Club. Once Hubby and Jet booked their flights we decided to mirror their trip so we added days on the front and end. On the front 2 nights at Port Orleans Riverside in the Royal Rooms. On the end 3 nights at Pop Century standard pool view room.

When? March 21-March 30

Why? When I started talking about taking a trip with my three kiddos there was really only one place we all agreed on, WDW. We agreed to stay at new resorts, eat at new restaurants and to take it slow. The taking it slow is going to be hard for me but I'm up for the challenge.

Thursday March 21 - Travel Day

I should back up about 12 hours to the night before our trip. Everyone was packed except me.

I had planned to pack after work Wednesday. Everyone had sports Wednesday night and it would leave me an hour to myself.

About 20 minutes after they left hubby and handsome returned home with Handsome keeled over in pain. His stomach was really bothering him. He laid down until after dinner. I was packing while checking on him and he wasn't getting better. It got to the point the poor kid couldn't stand up.

We heard back from the pediatrician who told us to head to the ER or urgent care. Luckily Hubby was already packed for their trip across the pond so he volunteered to take Handsome. 6 hours later (3:00am) they were home. No idea what was wrong but they gave him pain meds and sent him on his way. Needsless to say I got no sleep with worry. The next morning Handsome still wasn't 100% do I took him to work with me instead of sending him to school. He has had no issues since then so I'm not sure what was going on.

Hubby and I were both working a half day so it was a hectic day. We all got home timely and made it to the airport without issue. Hubby and Jet were heading to one terminal and the rest of us were heading the other. This was going to be the longest amount of time we had all been separated. We lingered together as long as we could before heading to our separate adventures. We had pizza at the airport for dinner and then boarded our flights without issue.

Late.to.the party here, but IMO Earl.of Sandwich is hard to beat.

I've also had kids change and dinner at Wolfgang Puck's new place, but its table service so.maybe not what you're looking for.

Enjoy and have a great trip. The weather here in Ohio won't be anything to brag about. I'm just jealous because, when we went in February, Florida decided to play it cool. As in, the temperatures stayed in low 60's.

Thank you everyone! I am just getting over my Disney blues so I can pull together this report. Popping that Disney bubble and returning to the real world is so hard!

We landed and my kids swore I was doing something wrong. I have the worst sense of direction and my kids thought the whole time I was going the wrong way. Until I delivered them to the fonorail. They decided I was trust worthy as our leader after this.

We quickly gathered our luggage and called an Uber. Even ordering an extra large the luggage was a tight fit. The ride went quick and soon we were Home!

I felt even more at "Home" when I saw the horses. I grew up in 4-H riding everyday of my life. I miss horses in my life so as soon as I heard their hooves a smile broke across my face.

We made the walk to Parterre Place.

We were on the third floor and for some reason I assumed there were no elevators. I schlepped all our suitcases up three flights. My winded and out of shape self felt exhausted. When I saw a sign for elevators I about lost it!

We were staying in the "Royal Rooms" for the first time.

My girls are very into skincare. Bear exclaimed "Wow! This sink was made for skincare" So Tween approved!

Even though it was 9:00pm we were all to excited to sleep. We decided to take a little walk around the grounds.

The resort is so pretty especially Magnolia Bend.

We called Hubby and Jet who had a layover in Chicago. We wished them good night and then all tucked in for the night.

Friday March 21, resort day

We slept in and took our time this morning. We walked over to the luggage services to pick up our grocery delivery and the castmember told us there was a special guest in the lobby. We popped in to see who it was. Nene was the only one not being shy.

Daisy loved Nene's ears and skirt. We dropped off our snacks and water and then made our way to French Quarter for breakfast. Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs.

We finished breakfast and made our way to the boat dock for a relaxing trip to Disney Springs.

When we arrived I noticed a large bird standing across the water. I took the first picture so I could zoom in to confirm my hunch.

Sure enough it was a bald eagle. That was definitely a first for Disney.

I saw a bald eagle a few years ago when on the boat from POFQ to DS - the boat captain pointed it out to us near SSR in a tree. Beautiful sight to see as our 'hawks' in the UK are much smaller. I've seen recently that there may be 2 now.

I saw a bald eagle a few years ago when on the boat from POFQ to DS - the boat captain pointed it out to us near SSR in a tree. Beautiful sight to see as our 'hawks' in the UK are much smaller. I've seen recently that there may be 2 now.

We visited the bathroom and talked to Hubby and Jet. They had made it and we're starting their England adventure.

We started perusing all the shops.

This Lego kitty looked like our cat Betty so the girls were missing Betty Boo.

We had two very excited 10 year olds when they discovered they could spend their birthday money at Kendra Scott and Sephora.

After that we had worked up an appetite and went to D Luxe burger. I forgot to take pictures of our food because drama has started to unfold. Nene had left her new Kendra Scott necklace somewhere and she was very upset. We had already ordered our food so I was trying to calm her down and tell her we would back track as soon as we were done eating.

The necklace drama didn't bother Handsome he was happy with his purchase.

We all quickly ate our burgers and as we were getting up to leave Nene stands up and she was sitting on the bag the whole time.

It was time for dessert

We called Hubby to see if he wanted us to try to bring him home a cookie. Of course he did! They were enjoyed views of Tower Bridge so we FaceTimed to pass the time in line.

After our cookies were secured I could tell the kids were ready to head back to the resort. We stopped in one last store and then made our way to the buses. The wind had picked up so we were too cold for the boat.

I had ordered a Peanut Butter cold brew without ice hoping it could be my morning coffee the next day.

That peanut butter swirl was delicious. I had planned on only eating half but ended up eating the whole thing. We warmed up and rested but the pool was calling to the kiddos. It was too cold for me to swim but they didn't let it stop them.

The kids swam while I read. We then played at the playground for 30 minutes until it started to sprinkle. We decided to head back to the room to clean up. I cancelled our dining reservation for Boatwrights since we were all really full from our cookies. We did have a 5:30pm reservation for something else. And we were happy that the rain had passed. Meet our beautiful friend Sampson.

We took a spin around French Quarter and learned Sampson came from Holmes County Ohio where he was bought at an Amish auction. All the carriage horses were brought from there. We all thoroughly enjoyed our ride and then back to the playground we went.

We decided to head over to watch YeeHaw Bob but unfortunately we were late so all the tables were gone. Bob came over and talked to the kids about being from Ohio before the show. By the time the show started the kiddos were tired and ready to go to bed so we missed the show

Saturday March 23 -DAK

I was up VERY early before 5. Ugh that is no way to spend a vacation. However we had to move hotels and we wanted to make early entry at Animal Kingdom. I was able to get everything packed up without disturbing the kiddos who I woke up at 6. We ate some donuts and I drank a very sweet Peanut butter cold brew. I should have added ice to it but I didn't have any.

We used the elevator this time and took our bags over to luggage services. We made it on the first bus at 6:35am. Sorry for the blurry pics it was still dark.

There was no one else at AK. There was a lonely Photo pass so we put her to work.

Much to our surprise they let us in when we walked up to the turnstile. It was eerie how few other people were around.

We made our way back to Expedition Everest not expecting it to be running.

To our happy surprise it was and we were ready to ride!

We jumped in line with just a few other riders.

Now this is going to sound crazy and I'm sure it is. I feel like the ride was warming up. It didn't seem as fast as we had remembered.
So we decided to go again. There was still no line.

A little better. It was now early entry time but still no wait. So we decided one more time.

That was the one. The ride felt like the Everest we remembered. Happy and realizing in our excitement I had forgot to book any Lightening Lanes we jumped on my phone and decided where to go next.

We were able to get a LL for the Safari at 9:00 so we had time. We decided to visit Dino land. First up.

They told us we could just stay on since we were the only riders. We decided to change partners and go again.

The cast members said we could go again but we wanted to ride Dinosaur before "official" park opening.

Nene takes this picture to send to her best friend everytime we go. Some inside joke for them that I am always clueless on but happy to be her photographer.

Sent this to my Clare Huxtable loving friend. He always says she was his parenting role model firm but fair.
