That's even to much to be classified as a first world. That's rainbow and unicorn situations.
Sorry if my post came across as concerned about the club 33 members. My concern was for those who just lost their jobs. And yes I know many would still have been laid off, but if you’re going to criticize me, criticize me for having compassion for cm’s losing their jobs.

Perhaps Carthay Circle could work better so that less of a park would have to be open? I’m not sure, just seems like they could think of something if they wanted to.

So now that pre-election stimulus is out of the question expect a) even more layoffs to come, and b) attendance to drop even further due to lack of disposable income.
yeah, already felt it with the consolidation of flights re arranged, my airline cancelled a bunch of them and changed my departure all together, my girlfriends flight the following month got canceled because she was flying on a low day of the week and had to move her reservations and everything to a weekend with the parks when she was supposed to arrive during a weekday.

Tragic times

That’s a big IF. And the other IF is how many members feel comfortable going? Definitely not all and I would guess not most. It’s a terrible chicken egg situation. Members are devastated by the loss of so many of their well-known CMs. They have known them for years and often have relationships outside of the clubs. If they could make this better they would. It’s out of their hands and is way higher up the food chain.

This is really sad. Resort airline check-in was one of those magical ideas that really set Disney apart. Fingers crossed that it comes back someday soon.
They’re a business and Florida can’t get off anyone’s quarantine list...to say nothing of the junta on the Potomac...

“Magic” turns out to not have much of a retail value

Observation from someone who hasn't bothered to read all 45 pages of this thread:

What exactly did all these Cast Members expect when they were picketing and petitioning (induced by fear and paranoia, not entirely their fault) not to be "forced" to return to work for months and months? Perpetual pay or positions held for no work done?

It's devastating that so many people lost their jobs. The Parks never should have closed.

true but I think it's more of a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" type of thing. more like pay the 25% out of pocket or the 100% oop after you lose benefits. lol I actually got my last knee replaced for that very reason. I could have probably hung onto the "real" knee for another few years but with 65 being a few years away and me wanting (hoping, praying, wishing) to retire in a few months, I figured I get it done now while still on the company dime.
Can't even imagine the cost of that with crappy insurance. 😱😱

A good buddy of mine works for Southwest Airline, she's scared. actually hoping they offer an early retirement package.

Southwest has never laid anyone off. I'm actually surprised it hasn't happen yet this year.

I believe that to be a false equivalency...

For me, the luggage service added to magical express sealed me in the Disney bubble. Without the luggage service, ME is just a well themed airport shuttle with a generally long and slow route. We are renting a car on our trip later this month. First time in years we are getting a car. Much less likely to spend all of our time on property with a car.

They are saving on labor but risk losing people to other destinations during their trip with moves like this.

That was the goal...however my bet is their analysis is that it will not result in substantial loss. They’re calling yours and everyone else’s bluff.

The last 10 years have proven to consumer’s lack of mettle. And I bet they’re right.
