I'm usually very positive, but the pictures inside of the hall are depressing. This feels like a new low in terms of effort and care. That communicore hall thing is not even a nice looking banquet hall, it looks like a high school, and high schools here use the same paint as prisons.

With stuff like this (and EPCOT in general) and, as evidenced by the face plant with TBA, it should be increasingly clear why a few of the most notable faces of WDI over the last few years have either moved on or are scarecely heard from.

This is giving off strong food-court-in-a-dying-mall vibes.

How much is admission these days again?

WOL is like one of those anchor tenants that left and they just put generic mall company signage over the windows.
Except at least WOL was a 30+ year old shuttered pavilion they occasionally opened for this kind of stuff.

It looked like what it was which was re-purposed space.

This is something brand new they spent years building specifically for this kind of thing that already looks like repurposed space rather than "flex" space...

Of course, the outlet store retail setup isn't doing them any favors, either.

Did Disney get secretly bought out by a private equity firm or something?

Maybe they’re opening a Cast Connection in EPCOT

Tom Bricker wrote an excellent article on the “re-microwaved” festival - he mentions the lack of topiaries and decor, and points out the festival has had the same decor since 2020. It used to get new decor each year.

It’s a great read as always from him.

Was a good read.

What is the festival now outside of extra quick service locations and music on the American Gardens stage?

According to the article children were pulling the props, which were glued down, off the table.
Not buying all blaming only on children. Heck in the resorts like All Stars they literally place cast member creativity holiday thematic sculptures of art on tables along the walls of a busy lobby hallway and how come none of those have been knocked over damaged somehow..
