It's simple. To try to drop attendance without sacrificing revenue and increasing profit.
Exactly right... just as any hotel at 100 percent occupancy isn't charging enough. I've heard it from multiple hotel execs that that's exactly the case. You want empty rooms for disgruntled guests, labor costs, energy etc. Absolutely nothing worse than having a guest leave property because there's not enough empty rooms to switch to.

Cut back park and hotel maintenance -- check
Reduced food quantity and quality -- check
Reduced staffing -- check
Reduced in-park entertainment -- check
Implemented ride rationing -- check
Removed attractions -- check
Raised prices at rates higher than inflation (again) -- check

And yet they still keep coming.

What are they going to have to do to discourage crowds -- release the Kraken in Seven Seas Lagoon?

It looks like the tickets raised but not as much as predicted for the multi-day:
3 day: 305 adult, 287 kid
4 day: 380 adult, 360 kid
5 day: 395 adult, 375 kid

They only show platinum on the web site. And a comment that others are no longer available. What gives?
