What amazes me is that Universal's best park doesn't have the attendance of DHS. With all the talk on the forums about how Universal is gonna take down WDW I thought their attendance would be better than DHS.

WDW has natural advantages and legacy ones that universal will never get to...

But 30-40% marketshare would be a major blow to Disney

Interestingly, Animal Kingdom had a bigger boost in absolute terms than California Adventure did after Cars Land, by about 200,000 more guests. (Of course, lower percentage wise because DCA was very low in attendance before 2012.)

The best news however, is that Pandora really didn't cannibalize the other parks!

I'd say Disney should be quite pleased with that, and I think this is good news for future expansion at WDW.

I’m probably 25% surprised the reception is as good as it is. But I don’t dispute the quality of what they have done in the Park (except the night show...yuck)...

Can’t argue with the product overall...just the timeline

No doubt...the total 2002 attendance was around 44...you do the math

Correct...but as long as numbers grow...they are succeeding.

I think they still count Park hoppers too...which inflates

I have a hard time believing DL outdraws TDL. We know TDL's numbers are accurate, so....

It all comes down to visiting habits. TDL sees nearly its full daily attendance making an entire day of visiting the park. Disneyland sees people coming and going all day, after work, after schools, and other short visits.

Epcot '87 = 13,277,381 which was the highest annual total in the history of the park. '97 was down to 11,800,000

Great. So they can cancel the Guardians coaster now and move the festivals to the new 72,000 sq ft concrete pad out back. I can’t wait for the Epcot International Food Truck Festival this summer.
