Hey everyone. For the last couple weeks I've been talking closely with a select group of people here to come up with an entirely new addition to Imagineering competitions here on WDWMagic. I'm very excited to anounce that the first of what is sure to be many recap shows talking about the various contests will be held TONIGHT and will be hosted by myself and JokersWild (known as AdvBlueDude in the SYWTBAI community and Youtube channel...)
The event will be going live at 9:00 pacific time tonight and will go over in detail each and every project that was presented in The Elite Eight as well as our own personal opinions of each player's skill sets as a whole. Keep in mind I'm coming at this from an outsider perspective, so it should be a fun experiment essentially getting some of my first impressions of the competitors in this contest based on the material they've presented. Following this video, LittleGiant will be joining me on a somewhat regular basis for recaps on a project-by-project basis for every competition here on this board moving forward. I hope for this video element to provide a new layer of interactivity to an already AWESOME and incredibly well established community.
Here's the link to the show if you want to watch it live tonight!
One last note. I know this is totally last minute and I should have brought it up myself at least a week ago...but if anyone who was a contestant on this season of "Elite Eight" would like to come on to the show to talk about their personal experience and gameplay throughout the season, we'd love to have you. "Exit Interviews" in general are something I'm definitely going to be pushing for moving forward and it's a new compontent to video recapping that I haven't dabbled in yet. In order to come on air all you need is a working microphone. If you're uncomfortable with your image being broadcast you can always opt for only audio and will appear as an avatar during the show. If you're at all interested and are free tonight during the time were broadcasting, please feel more than free to shoot me a message and we'll set it up for you to come on.
Thank you so much. If I saw this in time, I absolutely would have said it. The Truman Show is an incredible movie. Here's your clever parting line @JokersWild
"Good morning, and in case I don't see ya, good afternoon, good evening, and good night!"
- You should talk a little more about the restrictions and requirements of each challenge.
- You can just say "Disney World" or "Walt Disney World" instead of spelling out "Doubleyoo Dee Doubleyoo". We'll know what you mean, and it's a lot less tongue-twisting.
No. They got it right. It's just that most people do not. You are remembering a Saget conversation from a while ago where I mentioned that I generally just let people think that.I think you actually ARE supposed to pronounce it "england dog" (at least that's what I infer from something he said a long time ago). But I never do in my mind.
Fantastic video. Simply adored it! Can't wait for more.
Now I want to create an animated gif of Mickey wagging his finger of shame for every time someone doesn't meet a posting deadline!
That part had me in stitches!
Interesting, and those are good points. I also included restaurants, and my thinking was more so for breakfast. When I stay at WDW, in the morning I don't really eat too much breakfast because their either isn't time or the options. Also, if you are driving in, it could be nice to get a meal right before you enter the park. I thought that this would be a good option for guests (and also, there isn't too much good breakfast in MK I think). In defense of everyone adding a restaurant / cafe to TTC, it actually does have a target audience.
A view of SSL for the water pageant and Wishes is already a sought after commodity, with restaurants like Ohana, California Grill, and to a lesser degree, Narcosees serving the role currently.
I can't speak for others concepts, but for mine there was a specific target audience and function.
1). With the relaxed Navigator stations, the ability to provide premium coffee/drinks and snacks as families plan their day (not just buy tix) has value and function.
2). The target audience for the evening meal / experience would be an offsite guest or day tripper that wants to experience wishes (and a meal) while avoiding (or heading off) the post fireworks exodus of people and subsequently cars. By being strategically positioned in line with the magic kingdom parking, guests need not venture off to a resort (and thereby get stuck on the crowded resort loop monorail) post show, and are in easy striking distance of their vehicle for a quick exit. It certainly wouldn't appeal to everyone, but I can see it having a purpose, and one that specifically is a benefit due to its location along the MK entrance / exit migration path.
At least that is where my head was at.
I didn't think so much about breakfast, but that is a great point. Especially for the target offsite and day tripper guests who want to arrive early for rope drop, and need something to do to burn time until closer to park opening.Interesting, and those are good points. That makes sense. I could work , I just wasn't sure it was entirely necessary. What you said does make sense, though. In defense of everyone adding a restaurant / cafe to TTC, it actually does have a target audience.
