Actually that was Angela Lansbury.
Luckily, Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince was on ABC Family at the same time, so I was switching back & forth between that and the Parade of Nations.can we fast forward through the parade of athletes? Make it happen, Bob.
Excellent ceremony! Hearing that entire stadium sing Hey Jude with Sir Paul, the torch-lighting, the Queen busting out James Bond moves from a helicopter...all of it was brilliant. Hats-off to London for a superb opening ceremony to the games.
One of my former students' best friend is in the swimming - she also tried out and made it to the semi-finals.
Thaty's my claim to fame for the night....
That's odd. Wonder why they chose to do this? I'm all for supporting Phelps & all, but the victims and their families needed to be honored on the worldwide stage.Too bad NBC put the Phelps interview over top of the tribute to terrorist victims. Just wow.
Liz Beisel (spelling?) Amazing performance!medal!![]()
I've noticed in my years of watching Olympic coverage that the more the press concentrates on an athlete, the less the chance of a medal.![]()
Kind of the kiss of death. As far as the Phelps thing goes, he placed 4th ... in the world... better than I could do.
I wish NBC would stop making it so focused on Phelps vs Lochte. Last I checked they were both on TEAM USA - settle the rivalry later!!!
Agreed. I like swimming, but I am already sick of Lochte vs. Phelps. Phelps seems really ready to be done (i.e. retired) and Lochte seems to want it more. I wasn't shocked that Lochte beat him in the 400 IM.
They are also really trying to hype up Wieber vs. Douglas (women's gymnastics)...we may start hearing more about that one this week.
watch for this one today!
