2009 summer alumni program

Well this will be my 3rd time over in Disney and I couldn't be more excited about it. This time around I got Quick Food. Hope I can enjoy it as much as my last program.

So I was just wondering if anyone has done the summer alumni program before? I was just wondering if they had some of the networking events and activities like that as they do during the Fall or Spring.

I too asked a former campus rep that I use to do rep'ing with, and he too told me this (He works in management full time now). He said "I believe that if you were to accept the summer program, you would invalidate your Professional Internship applications. If that weren't the case, I think it would still look a bit suspicious." So, yeah, thats two people I have heard this from. I have also read on the PI site that they do get ALOT of applicants for the PI's, and for the one I was looking at they get 400 - 500 applicants a semester. So my guess is they are looking for people that match everything in the requirement section. I think I have decided to take the Summer Program and not try for the PI. Reason being, I found a more descriptive layout of the PI in the internship site, and I dont have good knowledge in a couple of the required tasks, so my guess is they will find someone more fit, and I dont want to lose out not working at all. But thats just me. :) Good luck on the PI application.

Some pointers that my friend gave me that I would like to share with you if you are still working on applying. "Make sure that you emphasize your Disney experience on your resume. Talk about the highlights of your College Program experience, any extra training you received, any classes you took and your Campus Rep experience (I was a rep). Positive points from here [disney] will serve you well." AGAIN GOOD LUCK! :)

Thanks alot. I made sure to cover my experience as a custodian cast member and mentioned how i was still season. I also covered my other jobs and my knowledge through school. I've already received 2 e-mails where I have to send them information. I hope that the next email they will ask me for an interview. BTW I applied for the Animal Programs/Animal Technology Internship

Congrats on hearing back so far, and good luck with the rest of the process. That is actually the PI I was looking at applying too. But I do not have a background at all with DBs and website design with DB integration. And as I said before that I bet with 400-500 applying they will find someone else that meets everything. So good luck, keep us or at least me updated.

Thanks. I'm still a bit worried that I may not have all the requirements that they list. I have taken a VB Course and Database course (in Access). I'm just refreshing myself with terms and concepts from my book. But if I don't get the job, the experience of going through this process is teaching me alot at least
