2007 Candlelight Processional Dinning Packages

Another question. I haven't done this in a few years - does the package still get you a shopping discount? I believe it used to be 20% off around EPCOT except for a few selected items when you showed your badge.

Works for me. I can eat a late lunch instead of dinner and then just snack after the show. How does it work with the Disney Dining Plan? Thanks.

The announcement doesn't really mess up my personal plan of eating around 5pm before the 8:15 show, but it DOES make the earlier shows less appealing for me as a back-up plan, since 5pm dinner is about as early as I can go. Obviously, you can do it as a late lunch, but my plan is to eat at Le Cellier, and that's a little too heavy for lunch for me. I guess it makes sense that they changed it this way though, since it helps manage crowd-flow easier. I mean, when it was open I imagine Disney needed to be a little more conservative in the number of reservations accepted, since they didn't know exactly how many CP package people would show up to each show. Now they'll know exactly how many reservations they can take for each seating.

I don't even understand what the CP is. Oh well, of course we'll be there for Maureen McGovern. I think Kirk Cameron even would've been better 'cause IDK who she is

Maureen McGovern is best know for the song "The Morning After" which was the theme song of the 70's movie Poseidon Adventure.

Also the CP or Candlelight Processional is the presentation of the Christmas Story through narration, orchestra and chorale. Check out this site for more info, by doing a search.

I don't believe they are as hard to get, at least not like Cinderella's Royal Table, because they are done 3x a day for nearly a month and a half, but to secure your top choice of dining at a good time, you should try to call in when reservations are first available.

The Candlelight Processional Dinning Packages will begin to book on August 15, 2006.

Is August 15th the definite date when we can start booking for CPDP's? I've been told so many different dates by different CM's when I've called reservations, I'm all confused  and I sure don't want to miss the first day for booking :). Thanks for your help .

All dates and information are subject to change without notice, but this is currently the official state date for the package. Phones open at 7am EDT. Who knows, you may get me! :sohappy:

New dining times makes it very difficult for those of us who are diabetics. For me it would mean I would have to find food after the show as well as eating the meal prior to the show. Normally I eat a later dinner and don't snack at all.

Very Sad

This totally stinks. We've never seen the candlelight processional before and were planning on doing the package, but getting rid of the later dinner times just won't work for us. Does anyone know if it is difficult to see the processional without getting the package? Also, we were planning on eating at Marrakesh. Do you all think we could still get a reservation there without doing the package?

JP, I'm hearing from some that gratuity *is* included, yet in your original post, you stated that it is not. Can you confirm this?

Thanks very much in advance! :king:

Should be fun seeing the alleged domestic abuser leading the Candlelight Processional :lookaroun

After responding to a domestic disturbance early Friday morning, police arrested Lou Diamond Phillips for allegedly attacking his live-in girlfriend with a La Bamba DVD ... full-screen version! (Okay, I added that last part on in order to sneak in a La Bamba reference. On second thought, is La Bamba even available on DVD? If so, anyone want to admit owning it? :lookaroun ) According to authorities, problems began when a verbal argument between Phillips and his girlfriend turned physical.

I was just going to comment on this...

And yes, La Bamba is out on DVD.

And yes, I so own a copy. That movie is grand.

Well I don't like you attitude there....and you are a Disney employee.....consider reported

I had to take a double take on this...I hope you weren't serious about reporting somebody over an internet message board. Though, to be honest, I would love to be in the offices of Guest Communications the day they got that letter.

"To whom it may concern: One of your castmembers is taking part in shenanigans and tomfoolery on a non-Disney operated website. Remember, only you can prevent forest fires."

This thread is still alive

It's water under the bridge, but at the time reported to our Magic mods.

Nothing else worth talking about since we talked through our differences

How did Lou Diamond Phillips do narrating last year? I'm trying to decide between the shows on Sun. the 17th or Mon. the 18th with Kirk Cameron or Lou Diamond Phillips. Thanks.

Does anyone know if it is difficult to see the processional without getting the package?

I post this info periodically to encourage people who have concerns, or those whose budget precludes these packages.

We love CP and go 3 to 5 times every year. We've never done the package, always standby. We've never failed to get into the show we wanted to.

And that includes last year's 2nd show on 12/23, a super busy time. This one required us queuing for about one hour. Disney upped the package numbers last year to 900 per show, roughly half the theater, but not a problem.

And finally, the package guarantees you admission, and seating in the first 12 or so rows, but it doesn't guarantee a good seat. Plenty of package people seated on the very far left or right, not optimal.

Thanks for the info. Is it also easy enough to get in for dinner reservations as well?

We are doing the 4 nights on land / 3 days on sea package, so with only one day for every park, we really want to get in as much as we can without having to worry about cutting the day short for the package times--especially since Epcot is our favorite park.

Also, I think I saw on this thread that they still do Illuminations when they are also doing candlelight processional. Is that correct?

Thanks for the help planning :)
