2006 Candlelight Processional Dinning Packages

The Candlelight Processional Dinning Packages will begin to book on August 15, 2006.

One of the most beloved Epcot holiday traditions is the Candlelight Processional – a joyous retelling of the (Biblical) Christmas story by a celebrity narrator accompanied by a 50-piece orchestra and a glorious mass choir.

Although there is no additional admission charge for the performance, Guests can purchase a Candlelight Dining Package and be assured of reserved seating for the show along with an enjoyable dinner at one of Epcot's renowned restaurants before the performance.

This is a credit card guaranteed event and a credit card is required at time of booking. The Guest will pay for the meal in full at the Restaurant where they will receive their seating name badges. Guest will NO LONGER need to pick up their package voucher/badge in advance, they just go to their restaurant and enjoy their meal before the show. Note, the show takes place rain or shine and less than one-sixth of theater seats are under cover so not all Dining Show Package seats will be under cover.

This is bad....we like the 6:45 PM show and it worked out for us better to eat after the show with a late dinner. I don't want to eat at 3:30 PM...that's not dinner, it's a late lunch.

that sucks some of us eat after the show.....bad change...

Totally agree.

This is just a way for Disney to make more money....by forcing you eat off times to open the restrauants for peak times...

Fun Facts:

Over 80% of Guests in 2005 choose dine times before the show for the 5:00 and 6:45 preformance. 100% of Guests choose dine times before the show for the 8:00 performance (true, they had no choice here, but anyway :brick: )

The number one guest challenge in the past was Guest not knowing where or how to pick up their package tickets/badges prior to entering Epcot. This step is now eleminated. Guest go directly to their restaurant to enjoy their meal, and get their seating badges at the restaurant.

Package times were not determine based on peak seating times at the restaurants as 2 pm is a peak lunch time, and 5pm is a very peak dinner time.

All package seating times are based on allowing the Guests ample time to enjoy their meal, with ample walk time to go to the Theatre for the show. The seating times available will vary at each location based on the distance of the restaurant to the theatre, and the average dine time at each restaurant.

The times will not vary much from last year other then eliminating the "after show" dine times, and expanding the "before show" dine times.

This also addresses a common request for a less expensive Lunch option for the package.

It wasn't that confusing for us....we're in DVC and OKW, we could pick up the package right there. Maybe it's different for the other resorts.

Don't you mean open, not expand? For the 6:45 PM show we were not "allowed" to eat prior to the show by Marrakesh, we had to eat after, then found out it wasn't so bad.

I still don't see why they didn't allow an after show dining option.

The lunch option makes sense for the early show.

Personally, I think this had more to do with -

1. Dining plan people "eating" up all the prime dining times so normal guest couldn't get ADR's. This certainly explains why the 6:45 PM show has such an early slot.

2. Make the guests eat early but not so early that they can get into an attraction before the show...this way they'll mingle around and shop.

There's another thing I don't like about this...

We used to be able to get in almost a full day at Epcot, see the show, eat dinner and get out before the masses left after Illuminations.

Now....the best we can hope for is a 1/2 day at Epcot, dinner and the show...and maybe some attractions.

And anyone with kids...you're probably going to be eating again after the show anyway....think about it.

Thanks for confirming this information, JP. I don't necessarily like it, but we're going to have to make it work for us somehow.

Exactly! I think this stinks. So if I go to the 6:45 show, I have to eat between 3:30 and 4:30. That's right in the middle of the day. And there won't be any time afterwards to ride anything. Just to stand in line or shop, like Ray said. It cuts the day completely in half.

I understand that they want to give us enough time to eat and get to the show, but I don't think that's the real reason they're doing this. I'm going to the December 1st show. That's about 117 days away. So DDP and people who aren't going to the CP have already booked their dinners in all of these restaurants about two months ago. I think these were the only times Disney could squeeze CP people into the restaurants. And again, I think it stinks.

No offense JP because you information is always great, but you have to say this, you work for Disney.....I wouldn't expect you to be negative about Disney policies. But our perception is our reality.

If what you say is fact then there is no reason to implement this new policy. If only a hand full of us eat after the show then let us continue that way.

Well what a crock, I didn't initially notice that gratuity isn't included in the price of the package this year. Between this and the strict dining windows, I am pretty unimpressed with all of this.

good catch...

plus tax and gratuity

how many people will not notice this and forget to leave a tip...it's the waitress/waiters that will get the short end here.

That should be in BOLD
