Well, I suppose it was only a matter of time before it happened.
If closing it had to do with ADA, load speeds why did they reopen the subs at DL? I'm afraid your "research" is suspect.
When 20K returns to WDW it will be the version from TDS. No H2O needed . Again your research needs some researching.
Oh how stupid of me. can you correct me please, in your infinite wisdom, oh great one? LMAO
Why did you start a new account? :veryconfu
And with Will Smith as a rumor, I see an incredibly high grossing film that will probably be incredibly mediocre or bad.
Because I found this website a few days ago looking for park hours for my upcoming trip (see below).
Id love to see an udated version but thae space will unfortunatly get used for the rumored mermaid ride, id rather have 20K.
Does any one know what happened to the subs from the old attraction?
I would love to see TDS's version come to WDW. It really is a great dark ride. It has an AMAZING queue, great story, narrative, and the way the ride changes elevation makes you feel like you are going on some deep sea adventure. The scenery is amazing how it flows and makes you feel like you are underwater. I wonder if that is the illusion they will use for the new Mermaid ride? There is even an interactive element with a joystick that controls a beam of light you can use to point at things to illuminate them. This was one my less anticipated rides going to TDS after reading reviews on the internet, but turned out to be one of my favorites.
I agree the ride was entertaining... But the weird storyline and the fact that it really had nothing to do with the 20,000 leagues we all know was kinda weird. Almost like they only called the ride that because they had to since there was a Nautilus parked out front.
Great ride though, I agree.
I never got to ride this true classic, it pains me that it was removed for Pooh's playful spot. I'm looking forward to the DL version though - even though it's not the original, I'm sure the experience will be great.
Will it return? I doubt it - there will be too many people who see this as wasting money on old ideas.
That's my feeling too. Losing 20K (and the Skyway) sapped a lot of kinetic energy from the park.
I think one of the most important elements in a Magic Kingdom-style park is just a sense of motion or "busyness." Horse trolleys on Main Street, the TTA, the monorail (in DL anyway), the railroad...I think their value is more in adding a sense of activity to the place than as modes of transport. That's the biggest hole I think some of the recent changes, like removing the subs and the Skyway, has left.
So, it has been "announced" that 20,000 Leaques Under the Sea "prequel" is a big budget "tent pole" project which means a summer or Christmas Disney release. Sounds like a franchise in the making and a confirmation of the 20K ride system returning to WDW rumor.
