2 Princesses and 2 Princes: a newbie's first PTR

Hi everyone! I would like to introduce myself to this site. I have been reading threads for a few months now as I've been planning my family's first trip to the world in May 2013. My name is Cassie and I have 2 beautiful children, ages 5 and 4, and a great husband. My husband and I grew up in Orlando and have been to WDW a long time ago but so much has changed!! I am really looking forward to getting to experience it all again and seeing it for the first time through the eyes of my kiddos. I have really enjoyed reading other trip reports and seeing the friendships on this site and I look forward to getting to know everyone here better as I finalize my plans for my trip and eventually write my first TR!

I'm in!!! Your family is so adorable and sounds like you'll have a blast. In a sense I can't wait for you to start your TR but at the same time I don't want your vacation to come and go so quickly. Ohana is sooooo good, but leave room for dessert.

Thanks so much for the compliments... I ADORE my kiddos. I will have to get my hubby in some pics also as he's awfully good looking, lol. I feel the same way about wanting the trip to hurry up and get here but at the same time not be over! I am really looking forward to eating at some wonderful places.

So today we had a dress up day! I bought the kiddos costumes several months ago and wanted to make sure everything fits. I had a blast!! The princess dresses fit my DD6 PERFECTLY! And the prince costume I found for DS4 is too cute on him. Check out my phone pics:

4 weeks to go!!! I can't believe it's almost here! Way too excited... I need to get a good backpack for the parks but other than that I am pretty set. I know what outfits the kids will be wearing on what days, lol. Costumes fit, got good shoes, itinerary set... Come on May 19th!

Not sure where you are planning on backpack shopping or what you had in mind, but TJ Maxx and sometimes Marshall's will get in some decent ones. Mind you, ours were purchased back in 2005 for a week and a half trip to Yellowstone & Grand Teton, but I think I paid $19.99 each and they are Columbia packs. 7.5 years later and the packs are still in great shape and have been wonderful day packs.

This sounds awesome! I love making all my dining arrangements. Most of my vaca revolves around food. I cant wait to hear when you get back. Not long now.

AIYEEEEEE!!!! (that's supposed to be a very excited scream) 11 days to go! That's only a week and a half. I can't believe it! I've started packing already... Still need ponchos. Plan on getting the cheapie kind at walmart or something. Gonna make a few hairbows and I think we will be set. I can't wait for next Sunday!!

2 MORE DAYS! Today is my last work day before vacation. It's a wonderful Friday. Tomorrow is reserved to finish packing and just bask in the glow that comes from thinking of our trip. I can't wait to update you all on our adventures.

We got back late friday night from our trip... hard to believe it's over. Good to be home but I miss seeing the larger than life icons in wdw. I am uploading pics and looking over my notes so that I can start my TR!! Stay tuned.

I think I'm the latest to the party, as I just read all three pages now. Hope you had a great trip. I'm interested in reading your TR as we're bringing our kids for the first time soon, and my youngest son is 4, so I'm curious as to how it'll go with him.

I think it's funny how the phrase "on a budget" means something so different here than it does elsewhere - I couldn't believe all the toys/costumes/shirts you stocked up on for the trip. LOL! I'm going to feel ike a miser if my kids find out how much loot some of the other kids going to WDW end up with.
