We are going on a Disney cruise for the first time! Make-A-Wish finally came through for my boy. His trip was changed from parks to cruise. We are going on the March 30 trip on the Dream! So far, we haven't received a ton of info from MAW, and I don't see a whole ton online. We are travel with 3 of our kids, ages 10,9, and 6. We will be in cabin #8590 so any info on that would be greatly appreciated. What should we make sure to do? What should we not worry about? We've booked the Blue Lagoon for Nassau and snorkeling at CC. Anything we shouldn't miss with packing? Any little tips or words? I've read about the Fish Extender thing, but I don't think we'll have enough time to set that up before we leave :/ I'm going to try and do some quick door magnet projects with the kids. Can you tell I'm excited!? lol. My son is absolutely giddy. We are hoping to head over to the parks afterwards on our own, but we haven't booked anything yet

Welcome to the forum. Great that your family is getting to experience what will be an awesome cruise. Please look at the pinned FAQ, Excursion, and Staterooms threads at the top of this forum. DisneyFalcon is great and incredibly helpful in starting these threads. Many (i.e. sweetpea, EOD, Chuck, Fantasy, etc) have helped roundout these discussions. Also look at the cruise picture thread. You may become more familiar with some of the ship features and things may be less foreign since you will have seen them already.

I already went through the FAQ. Our cabin wasn't listed. Does anyone have experience with the handicap rooms on the Dream?

My inlaws ended up with a handicap room on the Dream (rm.6006). That room was absolutely gigantic. I know it isn't the same room or floor but knowing Disney and judging by my DCL catalog that I have from AAA your room looks like a good size. Your room looks like it has a verandah (which is saweet) it is about 300 sq.ft.including the verandah. It has a queen size bed with a convertible sofa and either pull down bed or upper pull down bed that comes down from the ceiling it does sleep 5. I know one thing and that is you and your family will have an excellent time on the cruise.:)

Thanks! Is the room big enough to comfortably park and 180 turn a power chair?

What do you think about power vs manual chair on the boat? My son has a manual but cant self propel. The power gives him independence

The room that you have probably isn't big enough to swing your sons power chair around. You might want to call DCL and explain to them your sons situation and see if they can maybe switch your room to a larger handicap room or make some other accommodations to better aid your son so he can use his power chair.
Remember you never know the answer until you ask the question!!!!!
