Redbone’s Mausoleum of Magic

8346737-1-150007.jpg

Keith Redbone came to the Disney Quarter, enchanted by its ambience and seeing it as a prime place to continue his studies of the supernatural. Since his passing, his research space has become a shop that shares his own macabre passion. Guests can discover delightfully spooky gifts, along with tools in magic tricks to astound their friends and amuse their family. Oh, and do give a good look in the mirror in the corner…you might see Redbone looking back!

Voodoo Doughnut

Voodoo_Doughnuts.jpg

Looking for a taste of something sweet with a mix of the fantastic? Look no further than Voodoo Doughnut, which delights in familiar classics along with off-kilter creations like the Voodoo Bubble (topped with vanilla icing, bubblegum dust, and a piece of bubble gum) and the Ring of Fire (a cake donut dusted in cinnamon sugar, cayenne pepper, and topped with a red chili pepper). These treats are certain to bring some magic into your life, whether you’re out on vacation or having a wedding right at the shop!

Jamba

jamba-juice-496x540-1475240147.jpg

If you need yourself a healthy treat, Jamba is ready to cater to your needs. Take a moment to rest your feet and enjoy one of their signature smoothies or fruit juices. Meanwhile, treats like fruit bowls, baked goods, and artisanal flatbreads can offer an all-natural energy boost. Whatever the case may be, Jamba offers something healthy that’s naturally tasty.

AMC at Disney Quarter 24

Whether you’re planning on seeing the latest Disney movie or any other grand cinematic spectacle, AMC is ready to offer you the prime movie-going experience. The concession stand has plenty to offer, from theater classics like popcorn and candy to delectable meals like burgers and chicken fingers. Whet your whistle with their impressive variety of sodas or try a cocktail from the MacGuffin bar. Recliner seats offer a relaxing experience, and with 24 screens, there is always something to see.

École de Zydeco

CG_Zydeco2.jpg

This bar may look like a rundown shack in the bayou, but it’s home to an exciting Cajun atmosphere! Have yourself some Creole cuisine, or sit back and enjoy a nice drink like a Sazerac (cognac mixed with absinth, Peychaud’s Bitters, and sugar) or a Ramos Gin Fizz (gin mixed with a variety of ingredients like lemon juice, soda water, and a few dashes of flower water). Then, sit back and enjoy a host of zydeco performers, filling the air with their wondrous sound! You just might learn a little something about a sound that comes straight from Louisiana.

Escape from Vendredi’s Hideaway

boathouse.jpg

Long ago, the pirate captain Francois Vendredi (better known as “Mad Friday” to the seafaring public) had sailed to Disney Quarter in search of a place to hide from the authorities. Going undercover, he began running a boathouse by the bayou swampland. Plenty wondered why he did not build out on the harbor, but he insisted it would be “good for business”. The truth of his identity was discovered, and with it came rumors that his treasure horde was hidden in the boathouse. Though Vendredi went to the “Other Side” after a vicious battle with the law, the rumors persist about the pirate captain’s famed treasure. Do you think you have what it takes to find it in this exciting escape room challenge? If so, then step inside along with your crew.

668dc753eaecc059528e39ec6d9fecfd.jpg

Inside the old remains of this boathouse, you and your crew will see all sorts of maps, models, and trinkets all around these worn-down walls. Get ready, however! Once you step inside, the voice of Francois Vendredi will taunt you, saying that no one has ever claimed his treasure and neither will you! You have only sixty minutes to find your way out and discover the gold, or else face the wrath of Mad Friday! However, he is feeling sporting, so you and your crew will get three special doubloons. With a unanimous agreement, you and your crew can cash in a doubloon to receive a clue. You only get three clues, however, so you’re on your own after that!

So, do you have what it takes to find some hidden treasure and escape from Mad Friday? Steel your courage and walk on in, landlubber!

Are y’all doing write ups for every single shop and dining in your area?

Do you have a map?

Great! For City Park, are the shops just the ones mentioned in the two posts above or is there more I should be aware of?
@Mickeynerd17 is working on a write-up for a Star Wars shop, which will be themed to visually look like Dagobah (the swamp planet from Empire Strikes Back). Besides that, these are pretty much the shops we have.

Personally, I was envisioning City Park as starting more urban in look, but as you head deeper in, the terrain and architecture looks more and more like the bayou. One placement of shops that we had both agreed on was having Voodoo Doughnut and Redbone's Mausoleum of Magic next to each other.

write-up for general land and mission statement

From the exciting atmosphere of Bourbon Street to the quiet sophistication and serenity of Audubon Park, and out to the rustic and inviting Bayou, Disney Quarter is a shopping center celebrating everything the Big Easy has to offer.

Disney Quarter is divided into three sections, each with a distinct architectural flair, all three representative of three unique neighborhoods located within New Orleans.

French Quarter, a hustling and bustling marketplace built on an island separate from the rest of the district, accessible only by bridges. Here, guests can partake in a variety of shopping and dining experiences, both familiar and brand new. From the familiar comforts of Apple, LEGO, and Rainforest Cafe to the more Disney-inclined World of Disney and Disney Pin Stores, guests are sure to find everything they are looking for, and more in the French Quarter.

In Audubon Park, the majesty of Antebellum architecture looms large, giving the area a sense of taste and quality, reflected in the location’s shopping and dining venues. Guests can find familiar locations such as The Cheesecake Factory and Swarovski as well as try out exclusive dining locations ranging from the quick service Guardhouse Grill and the fine-dining location Audubon’s. For those looking to enjoy a night of delicious food and serene beauty, look no further than Audubon Park.

City Park may seem like an industrial and urban locale, but it is, in fact, quite the contrary. City Park adopts the rustic and homemade architecture of the bayou and combines it with the multiple styles of music and art NOLA is known for. Here, guests can tap their toes like a couple of Chicago Criminals at the House of Blues, or they can visit a galaxy far far away in the new Dagobah-themed Star Wars shopping location. For guests looking for a little more than shopping and dining, City Park features an AMC movie theater and escape rooms, as well as tons of live entertainment by local contracted entertainers, from music groups to magicians to comedians. Whatever your entertainment needs, you’re sure to find something to tickle your fancy in City Park.

Whether it be after a long day at the parks, a way to end a trip, a spot to meet with friends, or whatever reason you’re visiting, you’re sure to get all you want and more at Disney Quarter, open from 10 am to 2am daily.

OK then.

Audubon Park is mostly laid out on a single street, Lafayette Street, which travels from Grand American to French Quarter.

Nearest to French Quarter and along the lagoon is a fountain courtyard area where we have most of our QSR. Guardhouse Grill (located in the gate's guardhouse), plus Lafayette Trolley Treats, Panera Bread, Ghirardelli Soda Fountain, and Sugarfina. The lakefront nearby has the dock for The Paddlewheeler riverboat restaurant.

There is also a station for the Disney Quarter Streetcar Line, a transportation attraction which goes down the center of the street from Audubon Park through FQ to CP.

The rest of Audubon Park is a mansion district along Lafayette Street much like NOLA's Garden District or Audubon Place, with larger TS restaurants set in individual mansions. These include our originals, Aubodon's (include in its gardens the Audubon Aviary), Hightower Bar, Tiana's Place, and the chains Cheesecake Factory & Earl of Sandwich.

Our retail is located on Magazine Street, which is an offshoot of Lafayette Street near the FQ area. Our chain shops here are Anthropologie, The Art of Disney, Chapel Hats, Disney Christmas Store, Swarovski, and ZARA.

Thanks for this! Let me know if there's any confusion or questions.

Anybody have something to finish? I don't want to get nominated for doing nothing lol

I think we still need the write-up for that Star Wars shop.
Of course, but anything else?

I'll have only done 3 small writeups for a large project, and I really don't want to be nailed for not doing anything. I'm not lazy, it's just that most everything has been done now.

If love to help you out but I’m not sure if there’s anything you could help with on my end. I’m still working on Tiana’s Place but I don’t really need much of a helping hand on that. I’m sure you won’t be nailed for being lazy. We all know how much of a hard worker you are!

Thanks, I'm just trying to make sure I was doing a good chunk of the work since I wasn't too into the brainstorm.

If you want to do concept art for anything that could be helpful. Or write up basic concepts for entertainment. Have bands, musicians, comedians, etc. Those are all staples of these districts so it’d be nice to have a few
