If the people that are “OK with either” want to do a show, they can do a show and I can be the “middle man” Outbound discussed.

I have no real pull either way but can also happily work on both if someone else wants to work with both sides!

So, for the castle show, here's a list (admittedly quickly put-together) of Disney IPs known for some connection with the ocean that we could pull from:

  • Pinocchio
  • The Little Mermaid
  • Moana
  • Pirates of the Caribbean
  • Peter Pan
  • 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea
  • Treasure Island
  • Atlantis: the Lost Empire
  • Lilo and Stitch
  • Bedknobs and Broomsticks
  • Frozen II
  • Muppet Treasure Island
  • Pines of Rome (from Fantasia 2000)
  • The Whale Who Sang at the Met (from Make Mine Music)
  • Swiss Family Robinson
  • Mary Poppins Returns (mostly the Can You Imagine That song)
Feel free to mention any others I've probably missed.

So for our castle show, I’ll be honest, I don’t think it should be exclusively themed to the ocean. We already have the nighttime water show and both parades being ocean related and there’s so much more in the park than ocean theming.

I’ll write up my basic proposal and have it up sometime tomorrow

Good point. Maybe still keep the sailing idea, but make use of other Disney IPs beyond just ocean-related ones.

Yes
I think we should have Donald be one of the sailors. I mean, he wears a SAILOR suit.
What if you went full ducktales for the show? Donald is almost as popular as Mickey. Ducktales has been a hugely popular brand for 30 years on TV and much longer in comics. And even to people who don't know the show, it's still five classic Disney characters going on an adventure.

I'd advise keeping it simple as just Scrooge, Donald, and the triplets. Keep any show specific characters relegated to just cameos. A theme park stage show with 8-10 leads might be tough to manage lol

We could do that, or maybe do the classic trio of Mickey, Donald, and Goofy with Scrooge McDuck leading their adventure.
