Having created eighteen state-specific wagons, I have come to the realization that state flags are some of the worst designed things on the planet. With the exception of Ohio, Cali, Texas, Colorado, Maryland, and Arizona.

Wow I can really tell where I am just by looking at the state flag! /s

Wow.

And I thought we had it bad with two provincial flags almost being the exact same...

I agree. A technological marvel with a ton of wow moments! But it has the same storytelling/pacing issues as Frozenstorm or Little Mermaid
Hear, hear. I think this is the biggest letdown I've received from any Disney attraction in the past few years.

I should say that I always feel comfortable watching videos of new rides from resorts outside WDW, because since the chances are slim that I'll ever see those parks in person (with the exception of Disneyland, but even then, it's really expensive to fly all the way across the country), I don't mind spoilers. For example, regarding Runaway Railway and Galaxy's Edge, I refuse to watch videos of it because I want the first time I see them to be when I go in person. (Plus, it's gonna be their 50th anniversary, and I don't think I could live with myself as a Disney fan if I missed it. Fingers crossed we get a vaccine for COVID by then.) But with rides like this, it's full steam ahead.

Anyways, I remember that they hyped this ride up for years and years, and I thought we were gonna be in for the treat of treats. After all, it's Tokyo, one of the most technologically-astounding resorts in the Disney pantheon. But when I finally watched it...holy guacamole, was it ever a letdown. I was just like "...that's it?"

This is a Big Brother technical question - but for a HoH - what is the incentive in competing for a Project Veto?

One of two reasons, usually...

A: To ensure control over your nominations
B: To potentially "backdoor" another player by switching your nominations without giving them a chance to compete in the Veto (this is a particularly brutal social strategy that I don't EXPECT to be at play this season...but it is legitimately part of the Big Brother social dynamics ;) )

Oh wow that is brutal!

Welp, guess I will be executing option B then😂 Colonist icons beware

Question of the Day
What is the best restaurant in any Disney park?

(Bonus Question:
Did the forum change overnight or is that just me?)
Unpopular opinion, but I really love Lamplight Lounge in DCA. The food there is so good and the mini donuts with chocolate sauce and raspberry pop rock sauce are the best things ever.

Yes there was an update. We can now put gifs in using the site!

Tepan Edo and Brown Derby stand head and shoulders above anything else I've eaten at WDW. Tepan Edo is such a wonderfully fun and communal dining experience and it's impossible to get more "fresh off the grill" food anywhere haha. Brown Derby is just an absolute gold standard that actually made me appreciate the glory of a beautifully put together salad and how amazing of a meal that can be.

Reserving judgement till I try it
There are some fantastic restaurants, but Le Cellier Steakhouse over at Epcot cannot be overstated. Incredible meal.
I've always wanted to try it but it's just hard to justify for me.

Question of the Day
What is your favorite park DisneySea icon?
Mount Prometheus! It dominates the entire park from the moment it’s brilliantly revealed within MiraCosta’s arched veranda passageway. Visible from every land yet designed to never appear out-of-place. For Japanese culture, the choice of volcano as icon is incredibly meaningful. Best of all is the enclosed E-ticket, Journey to the Center of the Earth, one of Disney’s very best.

Vulcania, a buffeteria located inside the volcanic caverns of Mount Prometheus! The theming is on par with JTTCOTE’s queue, full of kinetic steampunk gewgaws harnessing volcanic power and cooking the food. And that food? Tasty, plentiful Chinese noodles, a really good value for in-park grub, which never requires a wait or a reservation like the more high-fallutin’ eateries. Also, they have Asahi!

Honorable mention goes to DCA’s Carthay Circle. Often I find Disney’s fine dining options overhyped (even in DisneySea ) but Carthay’s playful Californian menu never disappoints. Plus at one point the bartenders there knew me by name!

Is this why you made a mountain icon for DisneySky?

I'm genuinely shocked you didn't say Magellan's.

To a large extent, yes it is. DisneySky is very much me responding to DisneySea.

Magellan’s underwhelmed me, which was a shock at the time. The interior is gorgeous, of course, but the meal seemed too straightjacketed in its struggle to be “fancy.” Between the cost and the challenge of getting reservations, I’d recommend just doing Magellan’s Lounge for drinks instead in order to scope out the lovely design.
