Yun Cheng Review

Up front I just want to apologize, this week was extraordinarily hectic for me with finals before Thanksgiving that I'm running on fumes, it also unfortunately means that aside from the occasional dabble in the brainstorming, I didn't keep up with it each day. So my feedback will be relegated to an 'outsider' so to speak reading the project for the first time.

Beginning with the backstory, I love it. It brings you into this world as a guest. This season has been heavy on backstories but to me that's part of the creative process. This is many ways is a creative writing competition and what better way to express that genre than with essentially an original short story about the area you're working on. The map is also brilliant - two thumbs up to Outbound on that. I like the idea of Tiers but my main thought immediately goes to wheelchair and elderly accessibility, so I'm glad you added the ramps in addition to the stairs.

This land will really have an elevation to it, not only in terms of walking up the tiers but also in terms of the verticality of the landmarks. Definitely something similar to Pandora but on a much more massive scale.

It's funny the main image for Peacemakers is a classic imagineering project image - I distinctly remember it a past competition, it's cool we keep going back to it. This was a nice collaboration between Dash and Nigel. I really enjoy the spirit guide focus of it, a great premise for an attraction. Soar to the Clouds is a nice complementary attraction as well. The similarities in comparison to ToT fit nicely with the vertical approach to the land. Definitely something that makes sense. The exhibits/walking trails and animals as always are such a treat to read. The attention to detail as well as the passion behind the research is something that we've never seen in imagineering competitions before. I know on occasion that could be marked down for duplication of an idea, but to me if you're passionate about something, keep at it. Make it your thing. And if you have time for any given round, branch out into other territories which is what PerGron did with the backstories and dining as well which is the next category.

I adore the Alpine Teahouse! A perfect spot that fits the aesthetic of the land. I'm not sure I like the name Base Camp Bistro as it reminds me of Paris in Nepal, but nevertheless the menu is very well done. Cliff Face Cafe also adds a nice restaurant view I'm sure on the side of the mountain. In terms of retail, I think it fills out the land nicely. Retail to me is more about original names and something unique to offer that isn't just mickey ears. So if you can accomplish that I have no complaints.

In the end, this was a really neat project - getting close to the end now! You all should be very proud of how this park is coming along.

Creativity - A
Realism - B+ (the verticality is really cool and well oriented, but not sure if it would get built on this scale; it'd probably see some cuts)
Detail - A
Presentation - A
Teamwork - A
------------------------
Overall - A

Damned if you do, damned if you don’t, right?

I have no plans on losing this game anymore than anyone else, and if I have to leave a trail of bodies in my wake, it’s an unfortunate side effect on the path to victory. I’ll mourn you all when I win
I'm not telling you how to play...

Just saying though, you've left a lot of damage, and people don't forget that. 😶

I’m playing the game the same way everyone else has. I’m sorry I won a bunch of vetos and ended up being the one who had to make the decision to save someone or not, but that’s how the game works.

I definitely don’t like being the one people think is in charge of all of these eliminations. Most of them were a group effort, not just me, I just happened to be the one who had to deliver the news that we’re saving someone or not.

I’m no more malicious than anyone else and if I could’ve played the game without making that decision at all I would’ve, but I’m just trying to play the game the way it’s designed to be played. I’m sorry if you all see it as me plotting all of your downfall, but it really wasn’t malicious, I just got the misfortune of winning a bunch of vetos in a row :/

If y’all really hate me because I got dealt that card, fine, feel free and then just vote me out because of it, it’s just a game and has little to no actual impact on my life. However, I play these games for the fun of it and I really just love designing these parks and having fun getting to do creative writing. I’m no different than @D Hulk who was the clear “overcat” before I was, but nobody resents him for his part in many of the same eliminations, or the parts of any of the other guys who I worked with.

It’s whatever, hate me if you want, but imma be real, I’m kinda tired of this anti-fanbase I’ve garnered just for being good at what I do. I love writing stories and I really just enjoy being creative, and this game was designed to be more cutthroat than the other games.

If I do win this upcoming veto, people will hate me for winning one meaning someone else gets eliminated again “because of me,” but if I don’t try to win this veto and just let myself be eliminated, I lose the game just to make people not hate me. There’s no winning because either I lose this round or the jury takes me out for some vendetta. I’m not gonna moan and complain about it, nor am I gonna throw a pity party, and I know some of it is probably just joshing around, but to be the target of just constant hatred from everyone for just playing the game the way it was made to be played, well that just sucks.

Anyway, sorry for the long rant and all, it’s just getting to me. If y’all really take that much offense to me playing the way I’ve been playing, just let me know and I’ll step down out of the game. I don’t want to cause any trouble and make people hate me

It's ok, we're all a victim to this game style. It's a vicious system that is designed to cause tension and friction between us, and that's just how it works. Not your fault.

Now, humans are self-centered. We feel hurt when we lose at something, especially the closer and closer you are to the prize.

You've made decisions along the way trying to get to the finish, and those are respectable decisions. I mean, you removed me last week for being too powerful, and that's understandable. The thing about this game though is that every decision you make to remove somebody eventually comes down to those people you removed voting for the winner. One has to be really careful about orchestrating the removal of people while not getting into their emotions too. It just seems that you've gotten to a few people's emotions, and that can affect the outcome of the game and determine the winner.

That's why @TheOriginalTiki said a while ago that the winner of the best Big Brother game ever just laid low and out of the radar, and sadly you've been right in the middle of the radar.

Didn't want to hurt your feelings with my comments. It's all fun and games anyway, but that's just how the game mechanics work. As far as I know, you could be playing for sympathy, and that is a real concern to have. Your most likely really feeling this way, but the game sets up suspicion in everybody.

Really nobody to blame here except Big Brother.

As a side note, I hope Sorcerer's Apprentice isn't this tense lol.

Ok I'm going to put a cap on this conversation and kindly request that people stop acting this way towards other contestants. I know that most of it is all in good fun, but I think that some of the comments made are entirely out of turn, especially when we're pretending that PerGron is the sole person that eliminated certain players in a game decided by popular vote. I know that emotions can run high, and obviously personal feelings and hurt feelings are going to play into decisions made at the end of the game, but it is absolutely not fair to PerGron to gang up on him and then try to justify it through thin apologies.

THAT BEING SAID, no, Sorcerer's Apprentice is nowhere near this tense.

Dude, the whole "me trying to kill you" bit is 100% facetious. I hold absolutely no grudge against you what-so-ever. You are legit amazing and deserved making it this far. I was just trying to be funny and was not trying to insult you in any way. I'm sorry if it came across as genuine hatred. If you want, I'll try to tone it down with the "murderous rage" jokes.

Though, fair warning, I will still likely make a "Time for murdering" joke if you get eliminated, for the sake of payoff.

100% agreed.

That's just the nature of the game. He won multiple vetos, which can definitely decide whether someone was staying or going home, and that's a hard burden for one person. Sure, it's by popular vote, but It's just natural for someone to think they got nailed and pin the blame on a prominent player or the veto person, which in that case many times was PerGron. Sad, but unfortunately how things work.

Sorry for any harm done, and I'll put this to rest now.
